Where is everyone getting this idea that I don't want ANY government...has anyone read the VERY FIRST POST of this thread ?? If government DID NOT INTERVENE in our agriculture, I would be JUST FINE with that ! that means I can grow my own food...or buy what ever food I want from whomever I want. I don't need government to regulate food but if they do regulate food have it be in the favor of people's safety or have be in the favor of people's right to choose. If I find a farmer or a few farmers that I trust I will buy food from them, I don't need government to regulate that for me. People might contaminate the food through negligence or spite...but that would be bad for business and it is a violation of the declaration of independence. There SHOULD be consequences for those actions. FIX the problem without legal action (out of court settlement), Legal Action within the state or Civil Action. what is it with you ??? you make blanket statements...quote me, use References, something concrete. It's not about winning or losing the race to become president. Before Ron Paul how many people were talking about the federal reserve ?? how many people were talking about the constitution ?? how many people really began to examine the economy and federal laws ?? It's not about Ron Paul winning the election its about Americans becoming enlightened. People are already waking up to the reality that we simply cannot rely on corrupt politicians and corporations to run our lives.
But Al was a hell of a lot funnier when he ran. Him and Kucinich were practically a comedy team. Those were the days.
It's not on both sides, really the problem is only from the right-wing (the Republicans). The recession started (and was palpitated) by the Bush Administration. I guarantee you, if you look up historical political data, you will realize that the recessions were caused/occurred under the time period that a Republican was in office.
@Mikey, that is what makes me different from other folks who follow politics. I don't care about republicans and I don't care about democrats. I'm always shocked and disappointed when people make it a republican vs. democrat conversation. I focus on individuals and their principles. Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich, Gary Johnson, Cynthia Mckinney, these are people who have the same values and principles that I believe in so I support them. Their party matters naught.
I happen to like Kucinich. I'm honestly worried about him losing his district and he's definitely someone I liked to see as President one day, for he comes closest to my personal views. But here's something weird...you tend to come off as being this crazy Ron Paul libertarian, and yet you've mentioned a liberal person who believes that government can work for the people and a Green Party candidate who really did a lot to spread environmental awareness. And then you have two conservative libertarians. My question is...what do you see in all four of these people that you like so much? I want you to break it all down person by person.
