I'm all for weeding out sexual predators from the entertainment industry (every industry really) but calling out people for one-off incidents is going to turn into a McCarthy style witch hunt really fast.

I understand that, but these guys are making it worse. I mean was he drunk when that happened, did he ever apologize to her before. Can't help the people digging your grave.


But as I said I get what you're saying which is why one part of me is skeptical. For some reason one part of me is seeing this lead to somewhere not good.

A lot of people are acting as if Hollywood's inherent sexism created men like Harvey Weinstein, but this audio clip shows me that he is a disturbed man who would be doing the exact same shit even if he was the night manager at IHOP.

I think there are certain jobs/industries where some behaviors are more tolerated, accepted, etc. Often those who are prone to such things will seek out those environments where they are able to act out easier, have greater access, and maybe even have others who are similar around.

Nah, I have been asking myself the same questions guys, why now? To me it actually sound like Harvey said no to something and then someone wanted him gone. We spoke a little bit about it in the WSnipes/JLo thread too. It is a very spesific type of people that seeks this Hollywood life, and if you really want it, the road to it is sell your soul to the devil and shag the guy that can actually make you a star.

The 'Westworld' actress, 30, posted a 15 minute clip to Twitter on Wednesday, in which she talked through the gear and concerns she has about naming her rapists.

Wood described the individuals as 'very powerful, very rich, very entitled, very narcissistic white men,' but offered not other details beyond stating that she has walked out of award shows when one of the men has been honored with a trophy.

The actress revealed last year that she had been sexually assaulted on at least two occasions, once by an ex-boyfriend and once by a man she identified as a bar owner.

In her video on Wednesday, she said it took her seven years to even admit to herself that she had been sexually assaulted by these men.

'I haven't named my abusers for a number of reasons. One, I'm one person against some very powerful people,' said Wood.

'Two: money and time and retraumatizing yourself, go after the person who assaulted you takes quite a toll.'

She went on to state: 'It's a terrifying thing to go through, mainly because you are at the risk of not being believed, your career being hurt, you being drained of your finances because it costs a lot of money to file a lawsuit and go to court with someone, especially if all you have is your word against theirs.'

Wood then added: 'And especially if these are very powerful people.'

The actress circled back to that idea multiple times throughout the lengthy video, which seemed to be filmed at a studio while the actress was not on set.

Regardless of what the media thinks or wants the public to believe, touching or groping a woman's breast without consent is a MISDEMEANOR sex offense.
Meaning it's unlikely it would ever result in jail time for a first time offender.

People are talking about Ben Affleck like he potentially committed a felony sexual assault.
Even Weinstein, as sleazy as his is, is in more jeopardy for the rape allegations than the groping or sexual harassment charges.

On Thursday morning, Beckinsale posted a photo to Instagram of herself at a young age, and claimed in the caption that the Hollywood movie mogul sexually harassed her when she was a teenager.

"I was called to meet Harvey Weinstein at the Savoy Hotel when I was 17. I assumed it would be in a conference room which was very common.When I arrived, reception told me to go to his room," she wrote. "He opened the door in his bathrobe. I was incredibly naive and young and it did not cross my mind that this older, unattractive man would expect me to have any sexual interest in him."

"After declining alcohol and announcing that I had school in the morning, I left uneasy but unscathed," Beckinsale continued. "A few years later, he asked me if he had tried anything with me in that first meeting. I realized he couldn't remember if he had assaulted me or not."

The 44-year-old actress said over the course of her career she repeatedly refused to work with Weinstein, and while she stands by that decision, she said it "undoubtedly harmed" her professionally.

"I said 'no' to him professionally many times over the years -- some of which ended up with him screaming at me, calling me a c**t and making threats," she wrote. "Some of which made him laughingly tell people, 'Oh, Kate lives to say no to me.'"

Beckinsale praised all the other women who have shared similar stories of allegedly being sexually harassed by Weinstein, and hopes that gone are the days when "producers, managers, executives and assistants" can say, "'Well, that's just Harvey.'"

"Let's stop allowing our young women to be sexual cannon fodder," she concluded her post. "And let's remember that Harvey is an emblem of a system that is sick, and that we have work to do."

I understand the reasons Weinstein's IMO clumsy advances are considered workplace sexual harassment because of the incredible influence Weinstein had in deciding whether or not an actor got work with his studio, but I feel like these accusations are being blown out of proportion.

Weinstein is not the only one who has done actually, or allegedly, done this. Steven Seagall was sued by Jaime Pressley for inappropriate behavior some years ago. With so many actresses coming forward, it's like a dam about to crumble.

When I was a movie extra, it was simple logic; the more attractive you are, the closest to the stars and action you will get. And if one is fortunate, you could get a speaking part and have to join the Screen Actor's Guild(SAG). Joining the SAG is a big step forward for extras. It is also a big plus for the agent(s) who represent you.

"I'm gonna make you a star," is cliched but it's still effective. No doubt not even implied in most cases because trust had already been established.

For actors in Hollywood, it is like the porn industry, stars come and go. It's a revolving door.

It also should apply to the Hollywood big shots past, present and future. They are not immune, either.

Directors, especially the great ones, try to get something out of their actors on the set. But off the set, the actor/actress is and should always be off limits.

If all of this is true about Weinstein, his name and reputation will be forever tarnished.

This is the part of me that believes this a witch hunt by white political feminist for a move to replace power in Hollywood. The rape charges are what's going to really take Harvey down.

That's why currently he's not in the country.

Leaving the United States to avoid criminal prosecution instead of sticking around to fight the charges is NOT a good look.
