Seriously man, the whole institute of marriage is so fucked up I'm beginning to wonder why even bother. I refuse to enter a life bond with someone when it's met with cynicism and uncertainty from the beginning.

If you cannot treat a marriage like a marriage, why get married? Why not just cohabitate?

because statistically marriage is better for building and maintaining families (studies have shown that children of divorce are still better off than children of parents that never married, in a variety of categories).

if you're not a fan of statistics, then you may see more reason to opt-out. double if you don't plan on having kids.

this topic is vigorously examined in post 101 sociology, but everyone has their reasons for doing what they do in life, so you have to do what's best for you.

That's another case of statistics not telling the whole story. Yeah children who are products of divorce are better off because more of them have a father who didn't just bed the mother and bounce. The marriage isn't what maintained the father in the life of the kid the fact that men who get married are more likely to stick around but not indefinitely.
 
Everybody shouldn't be having children anyway. Even married people can turn out to be shitfuck parents.

Make no mistake, I'm a proponent of marriage. I was in one that was everything that I expected and more.

People have a tendency to be a little quick to jump into marriage these days sometimes ignoring the 'red flags' from the jump. If you spend enough time with someone before getting married, you'll usually have a good idea of your compatibility. People need to know how to look past the feeling of love and see reality.

Really?? If so that is sad. There is a video out that that boys mom made of his daily life and the lack of quality. It is very sad. He doesn't even have his whole skull so look it up at your own risk. Very graphic.

I just assume that from the article, Hulk wanted to retain his name and ability to earn in the future like it said and that it was worth more to him to gamble on future earnings rather than take what they accumulated now. He may end up with more that way. :smt102

But for real too many cats end up getting the death penalty in the U.S. for loving their money more than they ever loved their ex-wives.

It hurts to lose it unfairly but it's just money. Not worth dying for or rotting in prison.

It's only money to you because you're not the one losing it my friend. Especially when you were the one wronged. Imagine being sued by a guy who broke into your house and tried to steal your valuables. Does that make sense.

if in a no fault divorce (barring kids) will a person get a pay day of some sort. you know alimony or whatever. if so then that is a fucked up thing. I guess it would get greyish with the assets such as homes and vehicles and commingling of funds.

LOL, you know that is something that I noticed as well.

I don't know if its keeping up appearances or not airing your dirty laundry to the whole world, but that shit is often on hush.

Of course there are always exceptions but the overwhelming lot will keep things under wraps.

Its one arena black folks may want to pay attention to and not spread their agendas all over the national media.
 
Men are definitely the ones that get fucked over in divorce (way more often)

Also, Denise Richards did the same thing with Charlie Sheen.

Both of those are just off the top of my head, theres probably more.
