Pretty bleak assessment of men there Arch. Surely you know you don't speak for all men. I'm curious as to why you feel this way towards one gender and not the other.

l can't speak for all men....but neither can you speak for the untold number of single men who elect to take advantage of the joys of women outside of marriage and commitment. ..I can see a nobleness in you sharing matrimony with your wife......I can also see the sheer disgust in Bookie's testimony and perplexity with single men. ..

Interesting, yes for me getting married has been and continues to be one of the great joys of my life. There are however many men (and women) who don't feel the same as me, and as long as both single adults are consenting in the "joys" of being together, I cannot condemn the men or women who chose to be together outside of marriage.

As far as Bookie's experience, I too am amazed that such men would be that brazen, low class, and clueless as to make such overtly sexual overtures in their first contact, when I assume someone as classy as Books is clear in her profile intentions to meet someone to date, and not just hook up. That being said, it is not only men who are that low class and clueless, just the other day I stopped in a grocery store after a workout, and as I was walking down the aisle a woman was openly staring at my crotch for the entire time I was browsing the shelves. I did not take it as a compliment, it was creepy and disrespectful, I assume she was trying to see if the "stereotype" about BM was true.

Most of the men contact me. And, luckily, they make it pretty clear pretty quickly what's on their minds. Like one guy whose first email to me was, and I quote, "R U ON THE PILL". Exactly as written.

Several other guys, through the course of emailing back and forth, even went so far as to say that I should be grateful to them for talking to me because I have a child.

Dating isn't easy when you're a single Mom.

But whatever, I'm not trying to date right now anyway. The OP about my frustration happened in a Facebook chat with a guy I grew up with, who had a crush on me, and is currently married with kids. I immediately stopped talking to him. But, he's just one example of the type of guys who contact me.

I'm in my last semester of grad school and between the papers I have to write for my final class and the e-Portfolio I have to put together in order to graduate, and being a Girl Scout Troop Leader, and working FT, my plate is a bit full to be trying to coordinate dates.

Smdh Those comments would piss any woman off! For every shitty person though, there are probably 3-4 decent people! May not seem like it, after your recent string of douchebags but it'll get better. Being mothers makes us that much more special IMO. If some dickwad can't see that then it's his loss. This is just another reason why I love dating men with kids. It's just been easier in my experience. I honestly believe we meet the people we're destined to be with, when we're least expecting it. Brush off the assholes and just keep doing you. The right one will come along when you're ready

No , it was surprisingly and funny, because those men just embarrassed themselves. I just wanted to explain, that they have some mental problems, not me.
 
Online dating is the most perplexing thing.

On one hand you have guys who experience sending message after message after message to not receive a response from women.

On the other hand you have woman who experience receiving messages by the tens on a daily basis and have to weed through the assholes to find the sincere guys.

Both claim to hate online dating, yet both unsuccessfully continue to partake in it.

Not I. I've been finished with online dating for over a year. It's not worth it.

I think those success stories you read/hear about are anomalies. LOL.
