No, it's not a new network. ABC Family changed their name to & rebranded themselves as Freeform a couple years ago. According to the Hollywood news media, they did it to ditch the wholesome family perception of the network.

Here are a couple articles:

What are your thoughts on the programming thus far?
Most of Freeform's original programming is targeted to a Teenage-Young Adult audience, similar & comparable to The CW. But they were already doing that when they were ABC Family.

Despite the youth orientation, I'll still give Cloak & Dagger a chance.

Its gonna suck for the same reason a lot of tv does. They won't take a page from Game of thrones. That show is amazing because their are consequences to the action of the characters. They don't just float about on good feelings alone. The over the top overreaching morality has made once good shows absolutely awful. I can't even make it through certain episodes anymore

I suspect adam warlock may appear. I mean the ending went far....
Guardians 3.

I've been waiting around for this generation's "Star Wars" and it just dawned on me; the Marvel Cinematic Universe is exactly that.

Back in the day, I thought it was going to be The Matrix trilogy, but those films got progressively worse. Now, with A:IW, coupled with Star Wars' stalenss, I really feel the MCU has taken the banner from it's corporate cousin and ran with it.

Thoughts?
You are correct, sir

This is a reported leaked image from the CW Titans TV show. I'm kind of hoping this is fake or taken out of context because it doesn't look good.

WTF are they thinking with Starfire???? When I first saw pics I didn't think they were serious. Isn't she supposed to be sexy and golden-skinned???? This fuckery right here is why DC projects are dead last

Which series? I agree that Game Of Thrones "anyone could buy it at any time" ethos keeps things interesting.

The Flash Black Lightning Arrow Supergirl literally all of them. All of them would rather protect their morality than save lives taking out bad guys who will keep until stopped

FUCC at this news that was just announced!!!!!!!:

Multiple sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that troubled 'Lethal Weapon' star Clayne Crawford has been fired from the Fox procedural as studio Warner Bros. Television has been scrambling to find an actor to replace him.

EDIT:

I just got put on to this Deadline article from 2 weeks ago: http://deadline.com/2018/04/lethal-weapon-clayne-crawford-damon-wayans-turmoil-bad-blood-1202375855/

Deadline reported that he and Damon Wayans Sr. have beef now & are barely speaking to each other. Said the relationship is “beyond repair”. Warner Bros. studios is considering recasting Clayne’s Martin Riggs role — possibly with a female — to play opposite Damon Wayans’ Roger Murtaugh in a potential 3rd season.

Opposite-sex partners in crime procedurals are only compelling if there is a sexual tension element, and since Damon Wayans character is happily married to a gorgeous woman, giving him a female partner is not a good idea narratively speaking.

It must be Network Upfronts next week because the broadcast TV networks have been announcing cancellations (along with renewals & new show pickups) all week. This past day or 2 has been a bloodbath:
TVLine.com: TV Bloodbath: 20 Shows Cancelled in 24 Hours

It feels like a change in going on in the industry with this many shows getting cancelled. I'm seeing folks suggest this is because Disney bought FOX & Rupert Murdoch already had plans to shift FOX to air nothing but the NFL & cheap unscripted TV shows. I've seen others suggest this is the beginning of the end of Peak TV, There's just too many shows on too many TV networks.

Disney hasn't bought Fox yet, Comcast is trying to throw a last second hail mary to snatch the Fox deal for themselves.

I think you're right about the landscape of TV changing, I actually think the big networks are eventually going to contract down to basically be "Apps" on streaming services.

Well most of those shows suck. The only ones I'll kind of miss is Alex inc since I love the wife character. She was great on The Good Place and Master of None.
She looks a lot like my girl and has a lot of the same mannerisms since their both South Asian and families are from the same region.
But for the most part the writing sucked and you see how often Hollywood gives certain white actors and actresses multiple chances to fail like a lot.
Dude from the Crossing who played the sheriff along with super powered mom were on multiple failed shows at least 6 between them but they keep popping up. Neither of them ever been on a hit show might I add but we all know the kids from The Mayor will never be seen again.

Deadline & THR dropped articles last night explaining why Yesterday was a bloodbath:

Jessica Alba to Play Gabrielle Union's Partner in NBC's Bad Boys Spinoff

zsuUmA4.jpg

Can we start calling this project Bad Girls?

Jessica Alba will team up with Gabrielle Union to star in NBC’s untitled Bad Boysspinoff, TVLine has learned. Alba will play Nancy McKenna, an Army veteran and detective who’s the partner of Union’s lead character Syd Burnett. (Alba will also serve as an executive producer on the series.) After spending much of the past decade in Iraq and Afghanistan, Nancy is now raising two preteen stepkids with her husband.

Union will reprise the role she played in the big-screen 2003 blockbuster Bad Boys II, starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. (Syd was a DEA undercover operative and the sister of Lawrence’s character Marcus.) Original film producer Jerry Bruckheimer is onboard as an executive producer of the new series, which earned a pilot order back in October.

This marks the first series-regular role for Alba since she starred in the James Cameron-produced sci-fi drama Dark Angel that ran on Fox from 2000 to 2002. Since then, she’s starred in films like Fantastic Four, Sin City and Machete and made appearances on Entourage, The Office, The Spoils of Babylon and Barely Famous.

Acting is her side job now, she is the CEO of a company worth $1.7 Billion, she has a personal worth of $350 million.

Wow. Met her husband a few years ago. Dude has got it made with a wife earning like that.

I just don't see this movie working as a television show, but since it is two female leads who are very famous it will keep viewers for awhile. I don't know, I'm going to have to wait for a trailer, because it's just not peaking my interest.

‘Bad Boys’ Offshoot ‘L.A.’s Finest’ Not Going Forward At NBC, Being Shopped

EXCLUSIVE: Remember the May 2013 shocker when CBS passed on Beverly Hills Cop sequel pilot featuring Eddie Murphy? We have a similar situation this year with the Bad Boys offshoot pilot LA’s Finest, toplined by the films’ Gabrielle Union and fellow movie star Jessica Alba.

NBC has opted not to go forward with the project, from Sony Pictures TV., Jerry Bruckheimer Television, Primary Wave, and 2.0 Entertainment. I hear the producers are already fielding interest in the property from other networks.

While not off the charts, LA’s Finest had garnered solid buzz and is a rare marquee drama title with two diverse female leads — something we don’t have on broadcast TV. It is not entirely clear whether NBC’s decision was based on creative or business reasons (NBC had been in negotiations with Sony TV on four projects — two pilots and two current series), but the answer is likely in some combination of the two.

LA’s Finest was one of the most expensive pilots this season, with its budget rumored to be as high as $15 million – $16 million. It follows the Special Agent Syd Burnett character played by Union in 2003’s Bad Boys II movie as she moves to Los Angeles and joins the LAPD. In the pilot, written by Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier and directed by Anton Cropper, the free-spirited former DEA agent Burnett has a fresh start in her new job as an LAPD detective. She’s partnered with Nancy McKenna (Alba), a working mom who can’t help but look at Syd’s freedom with some grass-is-greener envy. These two have totally different lifestyles and approaches, but they both are at the top of their fields in this action-packed, character-driven procedural. (You can see the duo in character on the set below.)

Alba and Union executive produce alongside Sonnier Margolis, Bruckheimer, Belgrad, Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reed, Jeff Gaspin and Jeff Morrone.
