I definitely agree that there are many genuine, sweet people on this site. I don't venture anywhere else online so I can't speak to other places, but I've made some ridiculously cool friends from wwbm in my short time here :freehug:

This. It's sad that there are people out there so willing to take advantage of others, but we have a responsibility to be smart and protect ourselves. Can't trust too easily...often times you'll get burned. I say, let people earn your trust.

Been there, had that happen too. Here and elsewhere. For whatever reason, some think this kind of behavior is fun. An ego trip. And because people play these games, we don't recognize a truly good person when we meet one. Because the ones who do this kind of stuff appear good at first too. So sorry, Rita. Just know you're not alone. :freehug:

You are correct. I admit to be naiive. I am guilty of trusting too soon.. I need to be more cautious. Good learning experience. I have asked this person for an explanation for his actions. He is not man enough to respond.....

Thanks so much. Most of the time, I really see the good in people. This was so shocking. Scary, actually.

I do too. I, too, am gullible. You'd think at my age I'd learn....but I don't think in devious ways so I assume others don't either. Ugh. Maybe by the time I'm too old to care, I might figure it out.

Someone left me a message (I don't know who it was) hoping it wasn't a particular person she had an experience with. IT WAS!!! I was horrified that I trusted this person. He knew I was vulnerable and totally took advantage. I only have myself to blame............

That is terrible...so it's someone who's done this to others here?? I know you're taking the high road and handling this with maturity (which I commend you for), but part of me wants his name blasted here to warn others. I know that's childish, but I hate cowardly people who take advantage of others. I'm sorry miss Rita. This really serves as a lesson to all though, not to offer our true selves up so quickly. Like you said, lesson learned.

Well, lets say he at least tried it with others.
Rita, it was me who repped you. I wasn't sure if I should say something, but I felt I should warn you.
I saw that he offered you to chat and therefore I was assuming that he talked to both of us at the same time.
He was the one I talked about in the "no name thread" who asked me to come to the US.

Thanks for looking out for others. I'm done feeling sorry for myself. I am normally much more cautious. He knew I am vulnerable right now and swooped in for the kill. I am disappointed with myself for falling for his act. I'm a grown woman, and I should have known better. This will never happen again.

you are not alone...trust me... as the women line up to say it has happened to them as well...all of us grown women...if it's any consolation it just makes you stronger and the men that do it more foolish...
