The names in the bible ARE NOT actual personages. They never existed!!. They are only principles presented in story form to describe the processes of spirit and matter.

not in the Bible of the Christian faith and certainly not in the Holy Bible we have in my church. It is the Torah, the prophets(all lived) and the new testament--God(jesus) with man, his crucifixtion, death burial and ressurrection to Life.

This shows the mindset of most Christians, and most religious ppl anyway (from any religion)...THEY DON`T KNOW...but they BELIEVE...and they call it faith!!

You can respect it...or you can think it is kinda simple minded and naive...
Or you can respect their view and still think that they`re missing the point...which is my position!

And by the way, Tuck, u do not need to obey the "word of God" to care for the poor, the homeless, etc...if u need it to do so, does it mean that without it you would just watch them die and suffer without doing a thing??? goodness comes from inside our heart, not from the word of God!!

This site is about IR, yes, but there is a "RELIGION" section...which means we can also talk FREELY about our beliefs and question opinions...isn`t this the land of the free???
I didn`t feel "INSULTS" in Oracle posts...of course he/she disagrees vehemently...but that`s his/her right as long as he doesn`t become personal and really insults ppl!!!

Open your eyes...your religion is something you`ve probably been taught since birth...but what have you really learned by yourself only...have you questioned any of the doctrine that has been literally forced into your head to see if there isn`t a broader spectrum than the "colors" you see????

 

I have gone from christian, atheist, wiccan, buddhist and agnostic back to christian. i have read the koran and I am sorry if I came off as harsh but I would prefer if he debated instead of just put down remarks. You do a good job of debating. I love debating.....it is soooo much fun!!!!!
But I don't like it when people just make remarks.

 

alessandra, please show us the insults. As per the bible, which Tuckerreed himself will testify he believes in, the human entire human race was born into bondage. 99% of the people on this planet is under some kind of programming or mindcontrol. To follow ANY kind of script or pre-conceived method of control is programming. There were no insults.

 

as it is a free site you can think what you like, as you dont know me or my faith. I dont know what program you are talking about, but if by program you mean that I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior, that i follow his teachings, and try and live by them, that i love fellow believers and enemies alike, then you might be right--i am on the Right Program.

You can look at some parts of the bible, like Death and resurrection, that story is the same as Osiris and Isis, The bible is a Manuel of parables on how to live the christian way, but ask the Mayans about the christian way or the early Polynesian or African peoples and they will most likely tell you the bible or the folks bringing the good news of the bible destroyed the country and life styles and made them slaves or out right kill them to almost extinction( American Indians.)

 

which then would support the belief that if the Bible was correct about God confusing the languages when they were building the Tower of Babel, why so many different faiths, would have some similar teachings.

 

Who knows but he could have still let them keep faith,whats to say that not all the world's people where at the tower of babel. I still believe the the flood of Noah was a local flood.

:? As an atheist, I have to agree in principle with what's been posted by "Sup." There is simply no room in my cosmology to resort to a 'supernatural' way of thinking when there is so much in the natural world yet to be discovered and yet to be known.
There's no need for me to insult another person's belief, because I'm already secure enough in my own.Thanks.
