I agree that it is disappointing to see some of the reasons, but I figure the ladies are just being honest, I only hope they can eventually get to deeper reasons. I agree that great sex is important to any long term relationship, but it won't hold one together. (been there, done that)
I cannot weigh in on the sex with a black man at this stage because I have not yet experienced it. However, like men everywhere, I doubt they are all alike in that area. Personally I will wait for marriage, should that ever happen. I know it will be just as amazing as he is. Sorry, not condemning those who don't, it's just that I don't want to give myself to any man no matter how wonderful, until I know my heart is safe also. I'm just glad that the man I love believes like I do on that. :yawinkle:
Anyway he's in Iraq for now, may he be safe until his return.

I am catching the tail end of this discussion but would like to at least comment.
As a BM, I have found it both flattering and a little insulting as to why many WW go for BM. I hear the following reasons most common: physique, sex, size of lips, aggressiveness, smoothness, bald head, more masculine. Somehow all those things are flattering to me but also make me think that the stereotype of the "Black Buck" is giving rise to these things. In a way that's okay, I guess. I mean, many BM have stereotypical reasons for being with WW, myself included. I think its just important to, first, realize the attraction is based on fantasy (but then again, I think ALL attraction is, to some extent, based on fantasy!), and, two, be ready to do the hard work of really exploring the heart and soul of a BM after the fantasy isn't exciting anymore.

You might date someone for a while because of his bedroom ability or his glimmering abs but long term relationships/marriages are built on more than that...the women on this thread are to be commended for showing everyone what IR love is all about.
I am not talking about the "glimmering abs" but hell yeah. I am a very sexual woman. If I am in a long term relationship with someone, then they need to satisfy me in the bedroom. I dont care what race they are.
I am not saying that they need to be hung like a horse, but I want it to last more than 10 minutes from start to finish, and know how to please me.
Like I said in my first post though...the respect is the topper. The last man I was with, for 3 months, a BM. Best I have ever had in bed, but the respect he showed me was non existent. I am no longer with him. Yes, my choice.
He was however, the first BM that I have been with that showed a lack of respect.

This thread and indeed the website seems to me to be about white women and black men. The very wording of this would make us seem to focus on the BM vs. the WM or another race. Therefore I think we all are trying to say what it is we like in a BM. I find that attraction came first, because of chemistry perhaps, personality, etc. and then because I am attracted to him I began to like, and learn, all that he is as I fell deeper and deeper in love. I may love things about him that many women may find rather unattractive.
Example: (My daughter fell in love with a thin Mexican with crooked and very large teeth. I don't think that attracted her to him. He is a wonderful man, however, now she loves his crooked teeth, and says they bring character to his face. They have a great marriage.) I still think he is rather unattractive, but I appreciate all the good in him, and they do have beautiful children.
So, I tell you what I love about one particular black man, and his traits are common to many, but I have to say that I definitely do not find ALL black men attractive, some are jerks, and don't know how to respect a lady, and no amount of good looks will ever overcome that.
Is short, as I tell my sons, I think women are attracted more by the way a man treats her than by his looks. Looks may initially attract her but will never keep her.
So to all you wonderful black men out there, even if you think you are "ugly", treat the lady right and you will win her heart. Be persistent, and patient, be a gentleman, be kind, be her best friend. You will win in the end!

Newbie here.... greetings to all, and glad to have found this site!
I agree... to me, it really doesn't matter what race a man is... I like men. I've had black lovers, white lovers.... some good relationships, some not-so-good. On the surface level, I definitely have an strong attraction for certain types.... give me a big, strong, dominant dark man in a nice suit and tie, and I'm a total puddle on the floor! But he should also be fun in something like jeans and tee shirt... and out of them as well..... to add more substance and dimension to the experience!!

On the topic, as I have said before, I simply see the qualities I find appealing more often in ww. As I move more and more into middle-age, I just don't want to over-analyze what I like and why---I just do. When I see an attractive ww, I am not thinking about her "skills", I am just

Holla. Having just recently discovered the black men and being very inexperienced with them.. well, first of all they are all very different. But there is certainly a dynamic there. So let’s narrow it down to African American men. What I really like about them is their laughter, it’s so uninhibited. They seem to be more positive, more playful. I like the way they talk, some of the expressions they use, their humour, I guess.
I love the way some of them move, of course, it’s amazing. The physique.. all that whatever was already said, but it’s true. From the little encounters that I’ve had they really made me feel like a woman. I love how you can communicate without words. I was also wondering if they were more sensitive…

Well my dear, I guess there's only one way for you to find out.
For me it was nothing to do with masculinity, or the size of some guy's ****. It's not because I thought black men were stronger, or better dancers, or better in bed.
I just found that given the different places I grew up and my own European background I just clicked culturally with the big noisy families, love of parties, food and people that fit well with my man. It's funny, over and over again I see black men with slavic women.
Given some of the places I lived growing up and the music I love (not hip hop but roots, dancehall and soul) it just happened naturally/accidentally and I got used to it I guess.
Some type of preference developed after that I guess but if I was single, I'd be open to a relationship with anyone no matter who they were so long as we clicked.

Wow, this is interesting because I got Baltic heritage and even though the Slavic people are our close neighbours, we've always been mellow, quiet and reserved. And I do love the local men, I love the blonde men. And I never did care about the brothers. But the men out here (as much as I love them) have always been... a bit cold. A bit, you know.. asking too much and not giving in return, should I say?

Like almost every white woman here, I too am veryvery attracted 2 black men. The underlying reason for that I don't know, but does anyone really know the answer as to why they are attracted to someone? i guess it's just a certain type i like and that "he" sometimes/most of the times just happens to be black. But attraction only gets you so far... Why i fell in love with my black man has much more to do with his personality and our mutual chemistry than just my initial attraction to him.
I spent the past summer in tha States, and as a blonde blue-eyed Scandinavian girl i got a lot of attention when i was out clubbing. One night I spotted my man, and he didn't even look my way. I was trying to eye him out super bad, and eventually I had to walk up to him cause he didn't seem to notice me at all. After that nite he told me he had seen me looking at him, but wasn't sure as to why. He said he wasn't used to white girls coming up to him, and he never really talked to them at the club anyway. I guess he was a lil surprised i came along, especially since i am 15 years younger than him (i would have never guessed since he looked so young, I'm 23 myself)
No-one has ever treated me better than he has. No-one! From early on he always called me, made sure i was doing okay. When we made plans he was never late. Always opens me doors. And i gotta say it feels nice. I'm so used to opening the doors myself, and paying for my own dinner i felt i was in 7th heaven with him. And him opening the doors wasn't forced at all, it seemed a natural thing for him to do. He's pretty religious, reads the bible and always says grace, i'm not religious at all but still it makes me like him even more. Doesn't drink, smoke, or do drugs. Makes me laugh so hard i almost pee my pants everytime. The love making: wild, passionate, caring, freaky, perfect. He takes care of himself and doesn't need a woman to iron his shirts, and that just really makes me wanna iron them for him
His mother brought him up so well, I can tell. He's a grown man and that's the sexiest thing about this beautiful black man.

I was there for work, actually nearby in Ninnisalu (sp?), but I spent a couple of nights in Tampere. Went to a club called komeeta. I tell you what, they had to force me to get on that plane and leave. Beautiful, friendly people there! I attended a formal celebration of Finnish Independence Day, it was fantastic.
