My life has been fairly tame. I burnt my arm on an iron when I was younger. A cat bit my face when I was two and I have a scar from it. I also got hit in the head with a crystal bowel and have a small scar from that. I have scars on my elbows and knees from biking accidents - some more recent than others and a 2 inch scar on my should from "bush bashing" as a kid. I also accidentally sawed my finger while trying to cut a tree when I was younger. What a d*ck head! Hahaha. I have a divet in the skin on my shin. When I was younger, I was climbing some cricket nets, and a piece of wire dug a hole in my leg. It was quite deep and it never really filled in. I can't stand touching it, because it's right on the shin bone. No breaks, though..although, I'm sure it will happen one day. I do have a motorbike license, although no bike, and I have an unhealthy desire to do stupid things. Well, this post qualifies as TMI.
I was in hospital a lot when I was younger because of kidney and lung problems but injury wise, nothing TOO major. My nose was broken by some little bint when I was 6. We were on the swings and I fell off and as I was getting up, she got the swing and slammed it into my face. We weren't friends after that.
Can't remember all of them. I took a lot of hits as a kid. Mostly head shots. Concussion in 5th grade, when I dove back and caught a football, and hit my head on the blacktop. Overextended my neck in 8th grade when I dove in across the line in capture the flag, and I heard my neck crack way more times than normal. Hit in the head with a door in PE in 7th grade. Had to go to the hospital. I still have the bump on my forehead. Hit in the head in 7th grade another time, with another door. Got hit in dodgeball in 3rd grade, and ate it bad. My friends said I did a back flip, but I call bullshit. Got elbowed in the face, causing my lips to get caught in my braces. Shit. My mom dropped and iron on me when I was a baby. Plenty of occasions where I've ate it and scrapped mad skin off of me, whether I was skateboarding, or just fucking around. Closed my finger in a car door, and passed out because the pain was so sharp. Might have fallen off a half pipe back in 7th grade. Not sure though. Busted my knee in 7th grade playing a game, and my friend's picked me up and dropped me on it. And some other shit. But I'm not keeping track of all that.
I've broken my pinky finger. I was in a car accident when I was 17, knocked a rib out of place and suffered spinal trauma (I had to wear a neck brace for weeks). LOL I drove with that neck brace...My sister would tell me if anything was coming... A couple of years ago, I fell down a flight of concrete stairs, skinned up my knee, ankle, and elbow. My knee and ankle swelled up like a balloon for weeks, along with my collarbone. Nothing serious, although I'll admit, I cried like a baby! Other than that, I've been pretty lucky.
Oh lord........ my list is long so I will just put the good ones. Broke all 8 fingers at the same time doing a back handspring Tore my meniscus doing kung fu Tore my ACL doing kung fu Broke my collar bone wrestling with my brother Broke my femur and tibia in my right leg (ouch) Knocked a tooth out falling down a flight of stairs And one more that left a wicked scar....but if I told how I got it....I might reveal my secret identitiy
My worst injuries were a broken femur from a car accident that had to be corrected by the insertion of a steel rod into the bone and a dog bite on my left arm that required over twenty stitches.
When I was in a walker, a hot oven grate fell on my hands. I have scars on both hands from that. When I was about 5 years old, I got stitches on my left eyebrow (from going head-first into the edge of our coffee table). Still have a scar from that. When I was a little older, I went head-first into our dining room table leg and had to get stitches under my left eye. My "wonderful" pediatrician decided to yank the stitches out and now I have a scar. (Who knows if I would have had one if she'd done it the correct way). In either case, that scar looks more like a dimple when I smile and some people mistake it as such, so that's not so bad. Fast forward to 4 years ago, my daughter (when she was about 2 1/2) broke my nose. Had to get it set. It was fantastic. That's about it for me.
I am rather interrested in military history - such as the Battle of Agincourt or Lord Nelsons adventures. That speech seems very interresting - care to elaborate?
Hardly anything. I am an incredibly careful person. I fell down some stairs after Christmas and couldn't walk on my right foot for about six weeks. Was on crutches. The hospital thought it was probably tendonitis but it was incredibly painful.
hm only one thing I was arround 14 years old. I overslept and I got up real fast and on the way out of my room I broke my little left toe in the doorframe. Well first I did not know that it was broke and I went to school anyway. Later I went to to the doctor, and I was so happy when he told me that my toe is broke, I was hoping for a cast, but no big drama I just got a large band-aid or bandage
Concussion from being thrown from a car in an accident. Messed up knee from sports. Broke my nose. Thats all I can remember.
When I was a kid I played sports and it seems that baseball was the only one where I got hurt. Little League I was beaned right in the head with a fastball. My freshman year of high school, I separated my shoulder in a home plate collision with a catcher, it was a mild separation thankfully. My worst though came the next season, while stealing a base I commited a fateful error I left my lead leg a little too low while sliding into the base and well the bases were nailed down, long story short I tore everything in my ankle, although somehow I managed not to break my ankle.
I'd elaborate about picking your topic based upon your intended audience, and how my topic was way left-field, for anyone outside of a military science curriculum (or anything to do with close-quarters tactics), but that would be hijacking and I don't want to hijack this wonderful thread. that stuff geeks me out
Start another thread then I am sure there will be an audience for it! And you are correct, I think this thread is great!
sadly the thread about giving head to keep your mate, would end up with more views and responses late edit - webs, enable PMs, so we can stop hijacking this thread
