His mom died a few years ago under almost similar circumstances to how your dad died, so you might be connecting to those similar emotions he was trying to put into the song. Water seeks & finds its own level in various ways.

The song speaking to me the way it does makes a lot of sense then. It does make me think of my daddy, who's been on my mind a lot this past week. It was a year ago Tuesday that he passed away. I miss him so much.
