My father is going to be 83 next month. He had Colon Cancer a few years ago and beat it. He went to see his Oncologist and his blood work is at a level 5. It's a cause for concern. He's having more blood work today and going to see his Surgeon (who removed his Cancer). They want him to go in for a CAT Scan. He smokes and has been since he's like 16. They're worried it might be Lung Cancer. His father had 3 types of Cancer (Throat, Colon and died of Skin Cancer) and his mother died of Breast Cancer.
Thank you. I really appreciate it. I need all the positive energy he can get. His birthday is next month and I'm helping him plan his party. He said, "I might not be here next year". I told him not to say that.
My grandfather beat cancer in his 70s, then it returned when he was 92 and he beat it again, so it can be done. I think the more positive and determined a person is, the better their chances sometimes. So just fill your dad with all the positive energy you can IB, if anyone could do it you can.
Thank you SD! I appreciate it. What an uplifting story! I'll definitely keep that in mind. His father beat all his Cancers, except he couldn't beat the Skin one. He died at 86. My father knew he would get Cancer, and when he was diagnosed, he took it on like a trooper and handled everything like he was having a wart removed. So hopefully this is nothing but a scare and if he does have it again, it can be removed like your gpa. Then he go back to living again.
:smt058:smt050 now that there is no need for airholes in her box, all is great. expect her arrival in about 7 working days. i've even thrown in an airpump as a wedding present.
oh ib, i'm so so sorry to hear this. lots of love and positive thoughts coming your way. we're always here if you need to sound off okay. :smt008 on a sidenote: my grandmother who is 91 this year has also smoked since she was a teen, has battled and won colon cancer and throat cancer. i wish your dad the same outcome beautiful.
Christine, you are a true friend and I'm sure that he will know that you did everything you could to help. Keep your head up. I know that you did the best you could. :smt056 IB, I'm so sorry to hear this. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. :smt056
I am tired of trying to act like am happy, tired of living, tired of everything .. what will be best is if i had a big bathtub full of acid and just jump in there and let everything of me disappear left nothing
I know it's hard Nyx to be in an unhappy situation, to look in the mirror and not know the person looking back at you, to feel like you've given so much that there's not going to be anything left, but you can't give up sweetheart. You're a precious person and the world needs more of those types and less of the assholes. When the bad threatens to completely consume you, you just have to hold on to even the tiniest piece of yourself with every last ounce of will you possess and never let go. The world can do a lot to you Nyxie, but it can't take you over unless you give in to it. I'm sorry you're in the circumstances you are Nyx, but sometimes you just have no choice but to fight back, or hang on until things change. You're an incredibly strong woman to have come this far, you've got it in you to keep going, I know you do. There are people here who care about you and we'd help you if we could. If you ever just need someone to talk to, please let me know. :smt056
