Nope, which is why I specifically said "set of cultures" as in plural and I stand by my statement, because I've never seen an individual African or European dance style as captivating as I've seen from the movement of Prince or Beyonce.

Just stirring- get thee to Africa! I understand your point, blurring of cultural boundries can be beautiful. There are big names in hip hop, r n b and dancehall who seek quality African djembe drumming for live warmth ontracks, for example.

Anyway let's keep this friendly and fun for once.

    Decale gwada!!

Mapouka to me is so sexually suggestive and kind of dirty, last time when I was in Abidjan saw it and didn’t enjoy it that much. To me the best scene of WW is when they wear traditional African cloth, appreciate the cuisine and dance a bit to Congolese music without shaking their booty too much. I saw so many Europeans especially pretty French ladies wearing African garb and eating Ceebu Jën in Dakar market, & I thought it was a sexy scene. I used to see lots of Young Nigerians and Ghanaians professionals bringing their white wives wearing African garbs to soccer game or some African Diaspora outing in Chi town, good times....

Yea yes- even "big women" who are respectable and young girls should be able to do the traditional dance. That's why I mentioned the head movements, it's that and the jumps with some hips only that make it beautiful and skillful, of course it's always had a sexual undertone but it's just that, an undertone.

I give the ladies an "A" for their efforts. They looked like they were enjoying themselves. Cuties with nice butts, I feelin them.

I loved naija's video, and Beyonce's video was wonderful too! The blend of dances from all cultures in that video was infectious. Gotta say, that's my favorite outfit EVER - nobody wears a pair of high-waisted jean shorts, knee-socks, high-heels, and an off-the-shoulder top like her... WOW.

Sorry. Having a fashion moment there lol...

You are very kind, naija :) I am doing very well, thanks! Very excited - going to see Sade on Friday here in Louisville - have front section seats!! That's my biggest news of the moment - thought you might appreciate it if you are a fan of hers :D

    Hope you are keeping well?

Ack...couldn't stand to watch that video. I had to put up with that craptastic kind of music for 6mths in Kenya. I'll slap the next asshole who plays it in my presence. LOL :smt036 The dancing, for me, is laughable too....but that is, again, just a personal thing. Other's love it. :) My hubby thinks it's awesome. :smt043

It was adorable and joyful and the girls would look kind of cute and sexy to most guys - no wonder you didn't enjoy it. And it went on for like 10 minutes or something!! - only extremely energetic and fit girls could keep up with that and still keep smiles on the faces of the male viewers (or any viewers) at the end of it all, no matter their skill level.

It takes talent to do that (even in terms of sheer endurance and keeping from falling on your face as I surely would lol) - it's not "craptastic", it's culturally oriented. If I had a husband who was from another culture, I would do my utmost to learn to appreciate everything about it, if I had a really loving relationship with him.

Not quite there, but a genuine effort! Quite ok for a white gyal at home if I say so myself.

You think that Beyonce Bullshyt is better than those white girls dancing? lol.
I beg to differ.. I guess it's a matter of taste. Beyonce and them look so rehearsed, whereas the white girls (even if they had to learn the moves) seem like they were just flowing and making due..

Thank You.. I prefer that style of dancing where it seems that u are flowing with the beat and making due as u go along.. Those Beyonce rehearsed dance moves, I cant stand..
