We met at an African club. I find it the best club in NYC, the music is unbelievable, the crowd is of all ages, yourng and old, and I used to go on Saturdays once in a while, after I got off my security job shift. Before I discovered that club, I thought I was a good dancer, used to compliments and whatever. Well when I saw how those African girls dance, I had to sit down and stare.

Anyway, he just noticed me on the dance floor, was observing me for a while, told his friend that "that one looks interesting!" and went ahead and asked me for a dance. When he did, I thought "yay! I'm gonna dance with a cute guy!". After the party was over he took me out for breakfast, then invited me home to meet his family, and I was like, "excuse me?" But he said, "no, no, they're very nice!" So I went upstairs and met them, they were actually very pleasant, and I turned out to be the first girl that he brought home here in the US. On the first date he called me his girlfriend, and I thought things were moving a little fast, but whatever, I had finally met somebody I actually liked who actually liked me and was obviously a good person, so I jumped in head first.

    I also liked it.

There is a very subtle truth to this statement.
