Absolutely, Tam. I may not be a Christian, but I have a lot of Christian friends including a Presbyterian minister (she's a hoot and a half - think Dawn French in the Vicar of Dibley). They are good, loving caring people who try hard to walk their talk. I don't have a problem with Christianity, its a few Christians I don't much take to.

But the ones who get all the press make everyone else look bad. :-( Having grown up in a pagan household, I know well how a few nutcases can poison the waters. I'm sorry you have to deal with that kind of crap.

I totally agree with what you posted. With all the ignorant viewpoints that the "Negro" Nazi posted in this thread & the obvious push back he received in response, it's pretty safe to say he provided the answer to his own damn question. No follower of the teachings of Jesus is Mandumbo, but obviously he is a follower of "Jesuse" and clearly that particular religious figure is an extreme nut job.

That's one of my main issues with religion. They try to use universal sentiments as their own creations. The fact that many of these sentiments are universal is further evidence that we don't need religion to be moral and productive.

in a way, we are MORE connected with each other and information, than any generation in history before us

it's easier to manipulate those who are isolated, when compared to manipulating those who literally have thousands of paths of knowledge at their finger tips.

with that said, people are 'losing faith' as they become exposed to other faiths and beliefs, challenging what they were taught at an earlier time. without such challenges to their faith via the internet, science, and media, people would probably have an easier time accepting the status-quo within their respective sphere of influence.

Christianity forbids adultery, theft, killing, lying..all of these things that we try to avoid as 'decent' human beings. If you choose to believe in it or not, you're still following codes derived from such teachings..

or perhaps you think these guidelines would exist if religions never came around?
