TheChosenOne, Whenever I see your screen name, I always think of a line in Public Enemy's "Welcome To The Terrordome". The lyrics are "so called chosen frozen, apologies made to whoever pleases, still they got me like Jesus...". Are you familiar with that song?
Won't speak for TheChosenOne, but I'm familiar with it. I think that piece of lyric was in response to the antisemitism charges they faced. I could be wrong because I haven't studied my hip hop history in a minute.
The "socalgirl" part you'd think is obvious (I do indeed live in SoCal), but it's really because I spent a good chunk of my career at the company where "SoCal" is a Division (clothing, accessories, etc). The 1609 has to do with a birthday, but I can't remember for the life of me why I did it backasswards. I know I had a good reason at the time!
My niece calls me a girlie girl because of my obsession with shoes, purses and makeup. She didn't know me back in the day when I was a tomboy. lol The '74' is my year of birth.
It was the name of rapper IIRC. The mythos surrounding turning things into gold just intrigued me. But mostly because it sounded cool.

I almost always get usernames from songs. The only one I used regularly that wasn't from a song was "deathrose", and I made that up back in my goth days in high school. However, seeing as it no longer feels appropriate, I stopped using it. Plus because my exhusband was net-stalking me, so I figured it'd be good to leave it behind. disposableheroine refers to a Metallica song from the album "Master of Puppets". My favorite album because overall it had some pretty damn good examples of old sk00l speed metal on it. There's a song called "Disposable Heroes" so I took the feminine version of it.
