I kind of agree with this. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that I went to college but that was back in the late 90s-early 2000s before tuition costs really began to skyrocket. For kids coming out of high school these days, I can't say that I would recommend it unless they have a wealthy family willing to pay all of the costs or a full ride scholarship.

I remember sitting down looking at my degree and thinking I exchanged all that money, frustration and time for pieces of paper with some fancy lettering in ink and an embossment. Fucking sham. And get this, I don't work in any of the fields I have degrees in. I'm mostly self taught in the IT security field lol. I should have stayed in the aircraft maintenance game, got into IT and called it a day. I told my son don't be like your old man, fuck college! Ain't no real exchange and challenge of ideas being discussed there. I told him that he needs to get a damn vocation; HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, etc... learn that shit, get a backpack and go to Europe or Asia or Africa and meet people and explore cultures while he is young. With a vocation you have a means to exchange real talent for money. But noooooooo...he wants to go to college. Go figure.
