Movies with BM/WW Couples

This one came out last year. The IR in this film though was generic it didn't add much to the story.
Oh you've watched it, it wasn't that great?
Yeah from the trailer I could tell it was a small contribution, like the focus is on her and her family

All of it was make me hungry for more substantial IR from lily . . . that refused to watch her Netflix movie last year due to lack of a black paramour

They tried too hard with certain things that should've really been simple. Too much talk that at times led nowhere. It was one of those movies that could only be carried if the acting was great and the actors seem to have not really tried.

Yeah they're on a roll this year

I Remember this story! And it looks like they got quite a few things right.

This is the real Joanne Lee-Beck and Jay Hunter

So I hope the trolls that will try to find something wrong with this go read this story and the great work she did. She was an rare actual ally that they speak of. The original Law Kim Kardashian in some way. lol.

Great find, brotha!

I was actually looking for info from the trailer on this "true story", thanks for sharing, very odd story

Pretenders

A film student and his best friend land in trouble when they fall under the spell of a beautiful but mysterious actress.

^^ If I didn't know better . . . I would call that a love triangle lol

^^^ lol. It's hollywood's obsession. But she is a temptress and the movie looks pretty good though. Plus judging by the trailer and the read up on his character and the stills I posted it would appear that he's not a simp. So that gives me the green light to check this out.

Shameik Moore is balling right now with the films. Let It Snow is out now on netflix.

Favorite IR movie(s) or movie(s) involving IR of the year?

EDIT:

Oh and IO
Io%2Bposter.jpg

Even though it was tough to follow it turned out to be a really good movie when you finally process it.

I finally watched the "The Pretenders". All of the dudes on this forum who hate these IR love triangles aren't gonna like the film. Not only is there a love triangle between the 3 main characters, NONE of them get a happy ending + plus black dude gets the worse ending.

Thanks for informing. I will not pay for a no loving flick. Brothers had been denied for a long time.

I'm currently goin through the "Upcoming IR Slate" thread & noticing some of the films that were announced in that thread, eventually got released, but nobody posted the trailers for those films to keep us updated. "Sweetness in the Belly" is an example. It finally got released May of 2020:

A couple of 2019 films that were mentioned in the "Upcoming IR Slate" thread, that their trailers was never posted in this thread:

Only

Leslie Odom Jr
Frieda Pinto

Odom and Pinto play a married couple in this dystopian future flick in which most women have died off which makes Pinto a target who needs to be on guard.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the narrative of this independent movie: Faced with the responsibility to take care of her addict, veteran father, headstrong teen Mickey Peck keeps her household afloat

Morrone plays the title character, Mickey, and Demba, a black Brit, plays her love interest.

Btw go check out the beach pics of Camila Morrone. She is straight fire.

I could've swore I posted Sweentess In The Belly or at least someone else did. The same with Only. But Freida is Indian.

They're both good movies I recommend them. I have never heard of Mickey and the Bear.

Obsession

Mekhi Phifer
Elika Portnoy

This came out of nowhere. Its about an "an out-of-work mechanic played by Mekhi Phifer who, after saving an older man (Brad Dourif), begins to falls for his wife (Elika Portnoy Portnoy)

Let me be blunt. There's a lot here that makes me less than intrigued.

1-HATE the title. Its too bland and common; sounds too much like the titles of all those adult-themed movies aimed at black people starring folks like Michael Ealy.

2-Never cared for Phifer. Hated back in the day in which the media was trying to position him as part of the next generation of black leading men. Hell, nah. Didn't have the face for it, too short and when he smiled he could look snake-like creepy at times. Sorry.

3- I never heard of this chick.

Women loved him. I remember when Honey came out a bunch of girls(mainly white) were flocking to the theatres.

Judging by the trailer alone it looks rushed. Could've had something here with the plot because it reminds me of this true story I believe out of Pittsburgh where a wife was having an affair with a black man on her much older Husband and they plotted his death.

I say could've because again it looks rushed but who knows.
Wasn't this movie loosely based on a true story?
yhhhh that Obsession movie rubs me off odd, I'm not into infidelity plots

Just watched "Obsession" last night. LOL, What a fucced up movie!!

Mathlide Ollivier stars as Chloe in Overlord.

I just gone done watching "Overlord". Bruh, Jovan Adepo's character, Boyce, simps over Mathlide Ollivier's character, Chloe, throughout the movie. Multiple characters call him out or clown him for simping. Boyce & Chloe have a couple of moments and she's clearly receptive to dude. Despite that, NOTHING happens between them, not even a kiss on the cheek. It felt like the producers cut out a scene between them because you can see how happy Chloe is when she says that Boyce survived at the end of the movie + he still towards her in the next scene after that.

Yeah I seen this film awhile back. It felt like a scene was probably cut; giving Prometheus and Hancock vibes. But other than that it was a good movie. Stylishly different.

Netflix finally put out a trailer for "Desperados" a couple weeks & the movie premiered yesterday:

A panicked young woman (Nasim Pedrad) and her two best friends (Anna Camp & Sarah Burns) fly to Mexico to delete a ranting email she sent to her new boyfriend. On arrival, they run into her former beau (Lamorne Morris), who soon gets caught up in their frantic scheme. Desperados also stars Robbie Amell and Heather Graham.

Looks like Lamont Morris is a love interest for Nasim Pedrad again just like on "New Girl".

Just got done watching "Desperados". In case y'all were wondering from the trailer if Lamorne Morris or Robbie Amell is the main love interest, let's just say this film ended up being "New Girl" redux. ;)

I think literally the Movie´s tittle it´s "Coutdown", from 2016.

Yeah I figured that but that type of general title usually be hard to find without other info.

It's a supernatural horror film from 2019 called "Countdown":

In COUNTDOWN, when a young nurse (Elizabeth Lail) downloads an app that claims to predict exactly when a person is going to die, it tells her she only has three days to live. With time ticking away and death closing in, she must find a way to save her life before time runs out.

Looks like Jordan Calloway (The brotha who plays Khalil Payne/Painkiller on "Black Lightning") is the love interest for the female lead.
