I don't see why BW/WM relationships are any less 'sexy' than BM/WW relationships are (or BM-BW/WM-WW relationships, for that matter). Aren't most interracial love stories in Hollywood about White men and Black women (ie. the Bodyguard)? I don't see why Black men are considered more 'masculine' than White men and I've never thought that BW were less 'feminine' than WW are.

To answer the original question and I hate to generalize but in my expericenes and observations its as simple as this - Alot of black women don't have the characteristics that alot of white men like and vice versa.

When talking about BM -WW relations the idea mate of the opposite sex are somewhat more in tune than when comparing BW-WM. Like I said this is a big generalization and there are alot of exceptions but this is what i've seen the overwhelming majority of the time.

This is faulty logic you are using but it doesnt really surprise me because alot of people think along these same lines. Someone doesn't neccassarily have to personally experience something to be able to teach about it or be passionate about it. For example you didnt have to neccesarily live during WW2 to be a solid history teacher or to be passionate about the subject.

Whether a parent can actually teach a child solid life skills is much more important than whether they share the exact same skin color or not.

I knew a girl back in HS who was mixed Black Father and White mother. She was raised by a white mother but was probably more level headed and mature than 90% of the black girls I knew back in HS who were raised with a same race black mother.

I'm not a black woman or a white man so I don't really give a shit.

I've seen an equal amount of interracial relationships between black men/white women and black women/white men this past weekend, it's all good. As long as they're happy.

Seems really hypocritical that some people here are advocates for relations between black men and white women but when it's the other way around they hate it. What the fuck? I don't really care what colour of woman a white guy dates. I actually think white guys and black women make good looking couples.

In a perfect, non-racial world, a white person could effectively raise a black child. But in the real world, especially in this country, a black child would need positive black role models, the same could be said for the white child. But the difference is that white children have role models all around them, and people who they could identify by simply just turning on the tv. Black children have the same thing but they have to look harder (pre-Obama era). If not, then the worst-case scenario would have a child with the mentality of that mulatto kid on youtube (forgot the link) or best case who would have low opinions about their own people. Now of course this could apply to blacks having a parent of the same "race" as the kid. But you must take into account that it is MORE likely to happen than the same "race" parent (of the kid).

But as you could see, I'm not a newbie.

Man their are a lot of things a white person canNOT teach a black/biracial. Now if the he FATHERED the kids it would have been different, but not that much. This woman probably thought what type of message that would send to her black sons (and how her black relatives would think about this as well) if they were to have a white male as the guardian/father figure to her household. I wonder how old was he and what was his history. What was his background? How would he teach the boys about being denyed for a job, or the perverbial ceiling, or about how slavery effects the mentality and the country of whole, of every single person of African-descent in the Western Hemisphere to this day? I'm not one of those persons that say the MAN is holding me down, but still, discrimination of all class and creeds still happen in this country today, regardless of a black President.

Because that's history that effected all "races" of people, and that everyone could relate one way or another, rather you are Japanese, Chinese, German, French, British, Filipino, etc.

But can a white man can really tell about the pain and the history of slavery, recontruction, Civil Rights, Middle Passage (even though no one is alive to tell about it), lynchings, justice discrimination, etc? Will he teach about Cleaver, Fard Muhommed, Fanon, Garvey, Duboise, Nat Turner, or just MLK and Harriet Tubman? As the teacher, he could tell HIS version of the story, the PC pg-version, not the real nitty-gritty side, like a WWII vet can.

I'm trying to coy but yet you are trying to be hostile. ANd with your questions, you already have a preset-disposition about me and how I think. No, I did NOT come on this site to be preachy and tell others how to run their life. Who do you take me for??? You do your thing, I do mines. Did I give any indication that I want to express my personal opinion about IR in general? See, that's another reason why I don't post as much. Too many assumptions. HOWEVER, I will give my two cents when I feel ablidge too. I am on this site because:

1. I am a black man
2. I did have interest in WW
3. I originally wanted to hear positive stories.


I don't lurk on the WM/BW orientated websites because that subject has absolutely NO interest in me whatsoever. I don't care what they (or y'all) do as far as dating is concern. However when those type of arguments leak onto boards that I am on and other dating-neutral boards, I will give my two cents on the matter with that as well.
