Why is it that BM who date WW in the south lose all their "brotha points"

If you can accept theirs then you can accept mine, just because I am a black female doesn't mean I have no right to be here, I can go where I want just like you can, if you don't like what I have to say about certain topics do not respond, just don't be rude to me about it. I don't think I've made personal attacks like you an Espy, I am not going to stoop to your level because I am not that type of woman to do so

I have the right to be rude to you, just like you have the right to be here.

Isn't it fun how that works?

Btw, that's the third time today you've confused me with Espy. What's wrong, all we White Women look alike to you?

I did not confused you with Espy that was your assumption as usual about black women, huh? lol The two of you got mad because of one of my responses in another thread, get it together girlie, you two definately have WWAS :smt043

You said "You and Espy" in a post to Espy.

Please, by all means, explain at length how you meant to do that.

The two of you got mad because of one of my responses in another thread,

How could we be mad? We're busy being passive.

get it together girlie, you two definately have WWAS :smt043

Is it WWS or WWAS? Because you've spelled it both ways when you're clearly trying to spell AWWS.

Unless, of course, that's just my White Woman assuming ways. Please tell me all about the acronyms you clearly meant to post.

Was it that I have Witty Woman Awesome Sauce? That's what it was, wasn't it.

Why, thank you, blacgirl. That's very nice of you.

Chi you and Espy have anger issues inside of yourselves and apparently talking to black women triggers your anger. Somebody has to do it so it will be me, unless you come correct, I will not respond to your foolishness. You two can tango with each other as far as I am concern because what you are doing is whack as crack lol

We have had black women on here before and we have never given them this much attention, going back and forth just gives supposed trolls what they want.

Although I will agree that sometimes I see things on this site that concerns me from the men referencing black women, some men.....not all! seem to cling onto this ghetto image every time they reference a black woman, I do wonder if they have issues with there mothers and not really with black women as a whole.

I must say I don't think I could date a man who downgrades women of there own ethnicity and uses that as a reason for dating white women, plus the whole dating white women is easier and nicer gets on my tits, white women exspect less? thats how I interpret it and thats just not true, we mostly all want the same things love, respect and fidelity.:smt086 we also all exsperience the same disapointments too I bet.

Thank you for noticing how pointless that little spat was. And what you said I can respect and agree

I don't think the Men use it as a reason for dating White Women. I look at what the Men are saying here, and it sounds to my ears exactly like what the Women of my mother's generation used to say about the White Men who were fighting to maintain the patriarchy.

I've seen too many of these men, here and elsewhere, talk about being treated like property not to see the similarities.

In the old days, every time a group of Women got together to share notes and plan for change, some guy would show up and start interrupting and distracting to try and maintain the status quo. I don't like that.

I don't think these men have any hang ups at all. Any more than feminists hate their Dads.

Black Men deserve the right to discuss whether Black Women are trying to prevent them from receiving equal power in our society or not. They have the right to discuss whether they are suffering from a matriarchial power structure or not.

The discussion is not unique to this board, or to Men in interracial relationships, but they ought to feel safe discussing it amongst each other on a board where most of the people they are talking about aren't even here.

I hate when men show up on Women's boards and interrupt feminist discussions. Likewise, it drives me nuts when I see trolls trying to guilt Black Men out of talking with each other about shared issues.

I said it better here:

http://www.whitewomenblackmen.com/forum/showpost.php?p=174307&postcount=71

Okay, possibly that last post didn't express enough.

It seems to me that black men find themselves in much the same dynamic with black women as white women found themselves with white men a few decades ago.

From the dawn of the feminist movement, even dating back to suffragette days, black women were excluded. Today, many revisionists claim this was because black women chose to put black rights before women's rights, but the truth is that black women were excluded by white women from the very beginning.

Over time, however, as women gained more equality, the results were gradually shared with all first world women, including black women. Having not been included in the struggle, however, black women had not internalized any of the philosophies -- equal rights, equal responsibilities, etc. Black women, who had always had to work even when many white women did not, are thus now immersed in two very conflicting ideologies: seeking out a man to take care of them, to be the provider & protector, while simultaneously pursuing an independent lifestyle.

They are brought up to desire both equal treatment and special treatment.

Compounding this confusion are the dregs of institutionalized racism, which encourages the hiring and promoting of "twofers" (as racists have so charmingly dubbed those with two types of minority status), particularly black women who are seen as less threatening to many of those white people who still harbor racism. At the lower end of the class spectrum, the same gender inequality occurs as the result of outdated social services that deny support to any family with a man in the home.

The result of all this is a situation where the power dynamic in the black community substantially favors black women. This is no better than a community where the power dynamic substantially favors men. Without equality, someone is getting screwed, it is the nature of the game.

You can see parallels between the white male/white female dynamic of years past and the black female/ black male dynamic today in many areas.

For instance, abuse & police. In a dispute between a white man and a white woman, police have historically sympathized with the white man regardless of the existing situation. Likewise, in a dispute between a black man and a black woman, the police tend to sympathize with the black woman regardless of the existing situation.

In generations past, if a white man felt that his wife was being unfaithful (often unjustifiably), he might feel free to storm through the house destroying those things precious to her, and attempt to intimidate her through force as a means of "teach her a lesson." If the wife called the police, those officers would more often than not side with the husband, refuse to report the crime, and might even assist in the lesson-teaching.

Similarly, in a situation becoming ever more common, if a black woman suspects that her significant other has been unfaithful (often unjustifiably), she might feel free to storm through the house destroying those things precious to him in an attempt to intimidate him through force as a means of "teaching him a lesson." Not only will police be unlike to side with a black man in this case should he call, but many black women have taken to calling the police themselves in disputes where they are the agressor. Because the physical power of women is often less than men, in the current power dynamic between black men and black women, black women frequently use surrogates such as the police to commit abuse against black men. This may take the form of calling police for false reasons (often resulting in police brutality), or using friends and family to attack the black man.

As a white woman who is deeply grateful for the rights I have today thanks to my mother's generation, and my grandmother's generation, and her grandmother's generation, I do consider it my responsibility to support others who seek equality.

It is tempting, as a woman, to automatically side with women in every power struggle or dispute. This however makes for very shallow and inconsistent ideals. While it is true that historically and globally, women have been oppressed by men because of size differences we are no longer living in a society where size alone can determine one's relative power to the opposite gender. With black women currently holding the greatest amount of power between the genders in the black community, and currently being described as the leaders of that community, it is shortsighted to assume that those interested in gender equality and fairness should side with black women by default.

It is important to note that speaking out about inequality is not divisive. Speaking out about black women's continual degradation of black men is no more divisive than objecting to Rush Limbaugh's constant yammering about "feminazis".

It is divisive, however, to make up stories as a lame attempt to justify racist and outdated mythologies about interracial couples, on a board designed to celebrate such couples.

BTW... I do not, for a second, believe you are who you say you are and I think your username would be better suited for racist site.

whoever just gave me the negative rep "I disagree.", I would take your thoughts with a great deal more weight if I knew who said it.

I am always open to debate, and even the possibility that I may be wrong. I've conceded more than one point on this board, and I may again if you have the courage of your convictions.

But anonymous rep is meaningless, so your point is lost.

I wish I could agree with you but..... I can't, I see alot of generalizations rolling round about Women in general not even about black women all the time and keep repeating words like ebonics? ghetto attitude? means nothing really it's not even a discussion, just pep hate words, I see the same thing thrown around about certain white women, they are too ghetto blah blah sounds more like a class war than a colour war to me.

My Daughter is Mixed it seems like as she gets older her skin gets darker, i think she may be considered to an outsiders eye mid skinned black rather than obviously biracial when shes older, do I think she will have a ghetto attitude? NO I don't think she will, do I like the fact that maybe because she will be considered (just black) that some dick will label her as ghetto, no I don't like it at all.

There are varying degrees of wrong and some of the stuff said on here about women is wrong, unless it's aimed at us personally do we respond, we don't even defend some of the crap stuff said about white women by the men, oh shes too fat too this too that, black men are exactly that Men! let them defend there greatness if they feel like it, there ability to chat about issues will not be affected by this poster, lets be fair here posts more than three lines long usually come from the women.

I don't know why we get so upset about these women/trolls being here, upsetting us is the whole point, I am past that now, but just because she is crashing the party does not mean that everything said is bullshit, because it just isn't so.
Only IMO though ;)

Francie not everyone gets upset by people like blacgrl. Nothing she's said has caused me to lose my temper, I think the vast majority of it is crap that she's using to forward a speculative agenda. However I don't dispute that she has a right to say whatever she likes. My question is why say it here? There is no reason other than the obvious. Her protestations that she's just championing black women aren't fooling anyone. She's pulled out just about every possible negative aspect of BM/WW relationships, and again I don't have an issue with anyone speaking their mind, but that right is extended to me and every other person here. She can say whatever she likes, but she should expect it to be countered by the people who disagree, or those that don't appreciate her labeling WW or BM.

If you're going to make negative statements on a WW/BM forum about WW and BM, you're going to catch some heat. Feigning surprise, hurt feelings, or shock when that happens is ludicrous. Throwing around false accusations, and trying to portray other members as crazy, stupid, or bitchy is asinine. But certainly if you are going to do so you really need to keep the people you're complaining about straight, and if you're going to use acronyms to describe them, you should get them in the right order. But I have noted that when you refuse to engage her, or make a good point, she either ignores you or starts spouting gibberish. Frankly it's appalling how confused blacgrl gets in some of her posts. I suspect alcohol and some form of dyslexia to be the cause, as it seems to come and go.

Oh and lastly, it wouldn't matter if her posts contained valid points or not to a lot of people, because at this point her method of delivery is unsavory and therefore anything worthy of reading is likely to be completely overlooked.

Francie what you said I truly understand and respect. It seems just because I am a troll certain ppl on here (like Espy and Chi) just go automatic on an rampage simply because 1.) they see me as an outsider checking in thus any and every word I say is attacked 2.) They feel that they are in entitled to be disrespectful to ppl like me because their views are supported by the majority on this board 3.) They know I am a black woman...

I have not been disrespected by any black man on this board, just chased from thread to thread by certain spiteful, and hateful females. I have not resorted to name calls or try to get personal and I refuse to go there. If anything, it shows unhappy ppl like them are like a disease. Just because you like black men doesn't mean you are suppose dislike black women. We are women, believe it or not, and we love and respect black men like any other race of women.

Ahh why don't you wagg off hetero, i'm not falling for nothing, lol funny the only man on this thread in a while and all your doing is trying to belittle my opinion with a quaint term, it's ok though I'm not bothered I never like what you post so no biggie.

I haven't seen anyone say "ghetto attitude", I've missed that. I haven't really seen anyone talking about ebonics recently either. Maybe we're reading different threads.

My Daughter is Mixed it seems like as she gets older her skin gets darker, i think she may be considered to an outsiders eye mid skinned black rather than obviously biracial when shes older, do I think she will have a ghetto attitude? Firstly, congrats on being an awesome mom. I cannot *wait* to have kids. Got some stuff I have to do work-wise before I start trying, but I think about it literally every day. How fabulous it must be to watch your little girl growing closer into the Woman she will someday become. :) You are a great mom to be looking out for her so well.

Anyone who labeled your daughter ghetto would indeed be a dick. Were someone to someday say that about my little girl, I'd slap him. No doubt.

I don't think I've seen anyone here say "Black Women are ghetto" or describe a Woman as ghetto simply because they are Black. I would strongly condemn that sort of thing, I believe.

There are varying degrees of wrong and some of the stuff said on here about women is wrong, unless it's aimed at us personally do we respond,

I think so. I think you & I both condemned the hater site post for being mean about the lead Actress in Precious.

we don't even defend some of the crap stuff said about white women by the men,

Actually, I've noticed the opposite. And certainly I've repeatedly posted in defense of Women, Women's rights, and so forth. Several of the Women here even stand up for female pornstars, which is a far more progressive and pro-Woman stance than I've even seen on many Woman-only message boards.

Not only are the women defending, but the Men as well. Every time UKBlack says something, there are Men condemning him. Every time Jaybee started picking on Women, there were men condemning him. This board, in comparison to others I've been to, is downright chivalrous. There's a thread around here somewhere where Ajax goes after Jaybee for saying some demeaning shit to a Woman, and it's just stand-up-and-clap awesome.

There are posts here that I take offense to, and I respond to them, but the thing is that there are other people here who respond to them too. One time, some guy was insulting me, and it was one of the few times I actually did get mad about a post. I was upset, and over posting way too many personal details just to defend myself and getting more upset. LUCIFERMORNINGSTAR posted "you don't have to do this you know." It was so kind, and just what I needed to realize I should delete what I had just posted. I see guys reaching out and being awesome like that all the time here.

oh shes too fat too this too that,

Every time something like that is said, there's a little fury of debate. Even in the porno threads, there's nonstop debate about what is and is not sexy, and yet there's tons of posts here from people who suggest that rigid beauty standards are ridiculous.

black men are exactly that Men! let them defend there greatness if they feel like it, there ability to chat about issues will not be affected by this poster, lets be fair here posts more than three lines long usually come from the women.

Since being here I've stood up for gay people, liberals, Hispanics, biracial people, and more. I don't mind defending Black Men as well.

Moreover, I so appreciate it every time I see the Men here defending Women. It meant a lot to me reading Ajax's post, for instance, even tho I was not the Woman being attacked, because it was good knowing that this was the caliber of Men who are a part of this community. Knowing how much I appreciate that, I have no problem doing the same in return for Black Men. They are great. I'm happy to say it.
