I can't believe you guys don't see the difference in culture. Yes there are women who are femnist uptight bitches however we do live in a culture where people here feel entitled and as a result they don't often come across as appreciative because they believe they deserve certain treatment. Yeah there are good women in the US but in this entertainment gimmie gimmie obsessed culture they are hard to come by.
I didn't say I don't see a difference in culture babe, the point was there are other options available... go find one of them. There are women of all shapes, sizes, and personality types world-wide, the US does not have the lock on vain, self-centered, feminists. This is where you have to go with the 'some not all women are like that' statement. I realize that you have run into a lot of women with that materialistic, vain mindset, but we aren't all like that. You're going to find good and bad no matter where you look, that's going to be the case in the US and in other countries around the globe. I swear I'm going to have to send you one of the many good women I know, just so you can see they do really exist.

Please do because I don't normally see it. My only experience with a great woman was someone who wasn't from here and again it maybe a regional thing because the materialism of NY and LA don't seem to be an issue in the middle states and the south. Also it could be an age thing too. But I have to disagree with you on one point. No other country is nearly as material based and consumptive as much as the US is. We are totally stuff minded.
We are a need driven, or rather a want driven society, that much is true. I do think you see that in other countries as well, but whether it is on par with the US I honestly can't say.
I'm also not sure that materialism is geographical or age related. I live in OK and I see plenty of people here whose primary concern is amassing as much stuff as possible and outdoing their neighbors, friends, co-workers, etc. I see that in adults my own age, as well as younger people my kids age. So I really think it's just how you are raised, if you see Mom and Dad being consumed with what they can have, and always talking about how they don't have as much as everyone else, I think that teaches you that stuff really matters and you need to pursue material possessions at any cost. I won't lie, I have stuff, but I've never felt the need to buy something just to have it, nor do I feel the need to compete with anyone else on that front. I just have what fits my needs, and I understand the concept of enough. I have a utilitarian mindset, if it doesn't serve a purpose and I'm not going to use it regularly, I don't need it. The only thing that doesn't apply to is art, which some people think serves no purpose, but I'd argue that it pleases me to look at, and I look at it every day. Of course my father was an artist so that is likely part of the reason I don't mind spending money on 'useless' paintings. Anyway, got off track a bit, but the point is I think no matter how old you are or where you live, if you equate stuff to happiness or success, you're going to be materialistic. If you are content with yourself and you understand that happiness comes from within and cannot be purchased, you're less likely to try to find it at the mall.

If that's the case, then let me just say that's BS too. There are women who are attractive that don't give a damn what a man has, in fact there are quite a few on WWBM alone, but I also know some women like that offline too. There may be pretty people who feel that their beauty entitles them to anything their little materialistic heart desires, but there are just as many pretty people who don't think like that IMO.
