which is why I always plan ahead before acting should be standard for everyone, but I guess you do have some headstrong people that act first and think later.
you know, after some random (okay maybe not so random, since i'm a military nut) surfing, I came across a retired Army General, who used that quote to define our situation in Iraq after he left the service. At least he didn't pull a McChrystal and say it while still in. 'There has been a glaring, unfortunate, display of incompetent strategic leadership within our national leaders. As a Japanese proverb says, "Action without vision is a nightmare." There is no question that America is living a nightmare with no end in sight. ' -Gen Ricardo Sanchez
you know...movies just arent made like that anymore... the 90's were a good decade for hollywood.. GI Jane A Few Good Men The Firm Heat Bad Boys Independence Day Any Lorenzo Lamas movie (I know they were corny, but I was a teen lol) Crimson Tide Saving Private Ryan
"The Internet is a great place for insecure people who want to get their aggression out." --Ana Kasparian
“I don’t care if Justin Bieber calls and wants me to negotiate the rights to his virginity.” -Ari Gold
"A fact is a simple statement that everyone believes. It is innocent, unless found guilty. A hypothesis is a novel suggestion that no one wants to believe. It is guilty, until found effective." -- Edward Teller
Associate yourself with people of good quality, for it is better to be alone than in bad company." -Booker T. Washington
"Talent is God given. Be humble. Fame is man-given. Be grateful. Conceit is self-given. Be careful." -John Wooden (1910-2010)
"Neo, sooner or later you're going to realize that there's a difference between knowing the path and walking the path." -Morpheus aka Laurence Fishburne
I just saw this in an inspirational email. And this pretty much sums up my life. LOL. It's especially pretty apropos for what's happening to me now. Whenever God closes one door, He always opens up another, even though sometimes it's Hell in the hallway.
I've seen that one too, Bookie, and it's definitely the truth at times. I don't know all the details, but I know that once you get through this tough spell, you will be a much stronger person than you even are now. One day, you will look back and see just how far you have come and know you are a survivor. Not everyone can say that. Hang in there. :smt056
Thank you. I just sometimes feel like I'm not even treading water anymore, that it's more like I'm drowning under my finances. I can't even go to movies right now. So you know it must be bad, because I NEVER pass up opportunities to go to the movies. LOL. But like they say, whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I hope you're right, GG. Right now, I feel pathetic and weak and feel like such a f**k-up. But I'm changing my days off at work and taking the next week off and whilst my daughter is in school, I'm going to spend time communing with nature, taking walks, going to the library and chilling out and clearing my head. I need to find a solution to this issue, because I really can't continue like this. I just keep thinking about how, had I stayed in the apartment, my car would have likely been repossessed and they'd be evicting me soon. Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!! I ask myself, how the hell have I fallen so far in life? Anyway, blah, blah, blah, it's a situation that I got myself into, and it's a situation that I will have to find how to get out of on my own. Thank you for the kind words. You guys are an amazing support system and I always feel so much love and all of the e-hugs and it helps me realize that I will get through this...eventually. LOL! This is so very true!! :smt042
Bookie, I wish that I had something magical to say to make everything better, but unfortunately, I don't. I will say this though. You are definitely not a f**k up. There are so many people in your situation right now. This economy has hurt so many people and is definitely making a bigger gap between rich and poor and eliminating the middle class. You shouldn't blame yourself. Sometimes, there are just things that are out of our control. The main thing is that you are doing what you can to try and fix it. I think that time off will do wonders for you. You need to clear your head and regroup to decide what's best for you and your daughter. You are such a smart lady. You will figure something out. I just know it. I hope the Avon business works out for you. I had forgotten about the wonderful products and good buys that they have. I've even asked some of my friends and family if they need anything. If you ever need to talk/vent, you have my IM and email.
