Every 3-4 weeks? Damn. And here I was feeling sorry for myself because I get it at least once, usually twice a year! It's horrendous. I'm in the early stages now but I just know it's about to blow up into full blown agony in a few days! There go my dreams of eating ice-cream and never getting tonsillitis again..!
lol the tonsilectomy folks changed thier advice about eating ice cream post surgery, they now suggest toast and other crunchy food to go over the op site and help keep it less scabby and heal quicker...... i dont get how that works thou hmmmm
In the US they do. I had mine out at 23, and it was not the most pleasant experience I've had, but I couldn't take antibiotics or pain meds, so I suspect that would have made a difference. I can say though that I wish I'd have done it sooner. I haven't had issues with strep or throat problems since, and I used to get tonsillitis or strep about once a month. Though now they have new equipment to use when they remove them that eliminates the burns and scabbing, which makes it less painful and shortens the healing time. They used it on my daughter and she was eating normal food the night she had them removed, and had almost no discomfort at all. My Ex had his out at 30 using the same procedure, and he has zero pain tolerance but did really well and was back to normal in about 4 days. It was amazing.
WHY do ppl insist on constantly asking me about when Nate and I are going to have a baby?! It tears me up inside every fucking time. All this baby talk just makes me think about the one I lost even more, like I need a fucking reminder of that. I know they mean well but it's really not cool. It's not like I can wear a sign that says "touchy subject, don't bring up babies" and responding to the questions with the truth just makes ppl uncomfortable. No one wants to hear that sad shit.
Having a pretty decent day today, booked tickets for me and the kids to go and see The Lion King in London in just under 2 weeks, really looking forward to it, done alot of my School Uniform Shopping for them today as well, getting very organised. Only thing left to do is the activity set in the garden, still sitting out there only half completed, but will tackle that tommorow as I have to wait in for a Glazier to fix the back door.
That is a bit insensitive and really none of their business. You guys aren't even out of school yet. Yeesh. Hugs to you for the pain these people are dredging up.
I finished reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone to my daughter this week. I told her that I'd read her the books and then after each book, we'd watch the movie. I figured it would take enough time to get through the books that as the books got darker, she could handle it because she'd be getting older. I finished HP1 quicker than I realized and now she wants me to start HP and the Chamber of Secrets on Sunday. LOL. Anyway, we watched the movie tonight and she asked so many questions. I don't think she ever shuts up. LOL. But she loved the book and the movie. I guess I'm starting her a little younger than I realized. I'll have to read the 2nd book really slowly!! :smt042
You might try having her read it to you Bookie, or take turns alternating chapters. That will slow you down some, and give her a chance to read aloud.
Yeah, that's a good idea. I've seen her read HP1 after I've finished reading and she's trying to fall asleep. So, I'll have her read the next one to me. Thanks!!
You're welcome. That's one thing I always did with my kids, and I think being a strong, confident reader will help them throughout their lives. I also remember in school that so many kids were uncomfortable reading aloud, and I never wanted them to lack confidence in that.
just come back from a bar in the hotel after a wonderful evening with geeky & daddy...!!! love those guys beyond words...!!! highlight was geeky getting sprayed in spit by a bar tart
Well, there is this guy who is friend of my friend. He's kind of cute. Last night we all went to have a drink and then we went to the club. He bought me roses and we danced tight . He said he can't keep up with my professional dance performance, lol, so I had to slow down and go like 1-2, 1-2, 1-2 He did gret though.
