I get out of your response that you also think he could have kept his story to himself or just tell me? If so, thank you I agree. Finding out through a forum that your partner isnt completely open with you sucks. So......whats overrated.......hmmmmm.....Jays talk about being always honest and how much he wants an honest woman (see thread qualities) LOL LOL LOL
Sorry but I didnt think you could handle me coming so close to death. I felt guilty for that all this time because I didnt TELL YOU!!! It was eating at me so long but you know what you just went through. You're still/never gonna be over that. Why bring up something else that Im positive would make you feel down?? Like I said... It was hurting me not to tell you but it was to YOUR benefit that I dont tell you. Still it bothered me that I didnt tell you. Im sorry.
Although haven't heard a shitload of songs from either group, I'll still say.... Overrated: TLC Underrated: SWV SWV>TLC Those sistas REALLY got voices. Makes TLC seem duller than I originally thought them to be. I still ike their music though.
Overrated 9/11 - Initially a "national tragedy" that quickly became a catalyst for justifying all manners of domestic and international fuckery since. July 4th - A bunch of white guys declaring their independence from a bunch of other white guys, while our black asses had to wait another 90 years before the end of slavery and almost 200 years before the legal right to vote.
Overated Thanksgiving- bunch of white guys creating a fuckery holiday for taking advantage of other ppl, raping, stealing and slaughtering some of our ancestors. Fuck Thanksgiving and the Turkey That It Flew in On
No doubt. I've been living here in the Northwest for twenty years and it still shocks me how many black folks who were born and raised here don't know what Juneteenth is. They know what St. Patrick's Day or Cinco De Mayo is all about but not Juneteenth. :smt119
Yeah, Juneteenth is big pretty much anywhere in the South. I know Kush has mentioned he has gone back and forth from Chicago and the South and I use to be your neighbor for the first sixteen years I grew up in Louisiana. Outside of the South though, seems like not too many black people even know about it. Not saying that there aren't any that don't because there are plenty I have met who do, just shocks me that there are still black people who don't know or want to know about their own history/past.
One thing Ive noticed about the South is alot of people still have a "house nigga mentality". Ive had plenty of gilrs flirt/like with me just because Im light skinned (most of these girls were chocolate and darker).
Yeah there are still a lot of assed out things going on down South both from Blacks and Whites alike. That's the main reason why when I graduated from high school I got the fuck up out. I go back every now and again and see the family and old friends who still live there, but after usually being there for about two weeks and seeing some of the same backward ass shit still going down I usually have to say "BYE" and bounce.
