Can A Woman's Love Be Bought?

Yeah, I know there's more to it than that :).
There's the.... making them. ;)

Really though, I changed what I typed a few times before I posted it, guess I left out another little bit.
Part of what I consider to be under the "things working" category is actually having enough money to make ends meet, provide for needs. There needs to be enough money to pay for rent/a mortgage, food, transportation, and whatnot.

I categorize this differently than all the "wants", and being able to throw money around, that's not for me lol. Want someone that knows what they're doing with money but don't feel the need they have to pull out stacks upon stacks to impress me.

That's a really good statement, Nic. Couples CAN be happy without stacks of money if they use wisdom and plan responsibly, and live within their means. And, lean times can really be times of adventure and growth for couples who are committed to each other and committed to making it work.

I don't mean to attach a value judgment to 'selfish', just in the sense of being focused on one's self. You know?

Yeah, see it that way now. Interesting :) But if they're focused on themselves, why do so many care what their partner does?

I think where you're at in your life kind of skews your perception because to get ahead or for most people to make ends meet you have to work A LOT. You don't get a nice house and have nice things just working 40 hrs a week unless you're lucky enough to be born into money.

Perhaps where I am at in life does make a difference in how I see things... I don't want to live on welfare because the person I settle down with won't work/too lazy to find a job and I won't make enough alone and I also don't want to be told to stay home and "do nothing" (supposedly), because the man makes so much that me working would be silly.
If I had to chose between someone making a whole lot of money and someone that didn't make as much, I'd look at how I felt about each of them. I wouldn't think, "hmm, this guy makes more so he's the logical choice". Love isn't logical, it doesn't always make sense... and I'm happier with less money :p

That's if you ignore the fact this is coming from a girl that thinks her parents sell drugs because she has no idea where they get the money they throw around with the jobs they have :p

Good question. I'm not sure, but I think people view the partner as 'theirs', and feel entitled to dictate or involve themselves in what their partner is doing. It's almost like a selfish child with a toy. I think some of this may be hardwired primate behavior more than conscious decision, because it seems so innate.

That's all that needed to be said lol.

Plain and simple money makes life easier and people want an easy life for the most part.

funny is how some people think staying home is doing nothing ..
you do a lot the only different is with someone work outside the home is
at home if you lazy a little you can leave the work around at home to do another hour and you can take your time .. but still have to be done..

I had so many times people seen me as nothing put me down ..
dont take my opinion and so on ...
example some friend when they got married didnt want my husband to be the best men so they asked me..anyways and one time i heard from some relatives that am nothing because i didnt put the money you pay in the church for that so my husband still is thats how low people think

Maybe my husband does work but i do more work then him ..
he does not even know where the damn plates are in the kitchen
I do even the outside ..

btw my husband and his family wanted me to stay home ..anyways long ago when my son was young went to work did for a little over a year was weekend
it was not the best but was a start but i got angry and stop reason is
when i finish work i will go home and when i asked if they had eaten the answer was no .. both my husband and son was staying with not eat all day ..
so had to cook something from before i go and i was starting at 6am
later on had enough and stop because he wont even bother feed his child
also with the time my son didnt want anything and will end up not eating ..

and about the topic here yes love can be bought either men or womens but not of everyone ..
for me i dont believe in love an understanding each other means more then money ..

work does not scare me i can do anythig just people need to see damn papers and what u have finish even a simple work they ask experience
i know i can work hard but nothing i can prove

where i was working years ago they asked me to stay not leave work even offer me more money while not paying anyone else that amount ..i stay two months longer but then still had to go

I think you hit the nail on the head, Nyx. For people who have never stayed home (both men and women), they often imagine that those who do are lazy and sit around all day doing virtually nothing. Yes, there are those who do. I don't blame a husband or wife who works outside the home all day and comes home and finds the home dirty, in chaos, with nothing done. Now, I understand that sometimes, trying to get housework and chores done with small children home and awake is like trying to shovel the sidewalk while it's still snowing. But with a bit of organization, and utilitizing the nap time and a playpen, it is possible to carve out some time to get SOMETHING done during the day.

I only had one child, but he was really demanding of my time. He hated the playpen. I no sooner put him in it and he was screaming to get out. But I figured out ways to still get things done with him underfoot. When my husband got home, the laundry was done, the house was straightened up and dinner was started. As he got older, I put him with a sitter for a few hours a week to give myself a break because my husband was often deployed during that period.

After my son started school, I volunteered and I was also very involved with his school and PTA. I was very busy as a young mother. I would much rather go back to that way of life than working full-time and coming home tired and unmotivated to do much else. That may not be the life for everyone, but I thrived in that role.

It's not that its doing nothing but in a household where one person earns and one person stays at home man or woman the person earning is doing far more because if they didn't earn there wouldn't be a house to clean or food to shop for.

so what would you say about the person who works outside of the house and also does everything at home as well????

You act like you are going to love your kids more than you love your wife. It all seems ego-driven. She is just the vehicle for you to have more mini-me's of whatever mediocre genetic material you have brought to the table. Let me tell you this - you need to be IN LOVE - and truly love and respect a woman - and help her out. Otherwise she will learn to despise you over time - I could never abide a man who loved the children that I made for him out of my own body, more than he loved ME (only because they were evidence of his genetic material)! If I had a relationship like that, I would want to kill myself.

Are you serious? The children are ALWAYS more important....ALWAYS. Hell, I'm not even a parent, but I even love my nephew more than I love my sister (his mother), and I know my sister wouldn't want it any other way. I know she would sacrifice herself for her child.
I can't stand people who put themselves above their own children. What a disgusting way to think.

you do know that's the way it's supposed to be right. excluding loving them just because they are evidence of blah blah blah.........kids come first and i expect the mom to feel the same way. we would die before them.......NO more room on the boat "take the kids" she or i would be ok knowing they are live.

Well said, Paniro!
