http://screen.yahoo.com/barbie-vs-basic-do-plain-jane-s-have-a-chance-28788624.html ok guys and ladies...here is a discussion. watch the link and comment. what do you think? do you want a plain jane or will you date a barbie ? women do you feel the pressure? vice versa guys do you feel pressure from women to meet certain standards?
I prefer the girl I have right now. Beautifully flawed witha good head on her shoulders and the confidence to be responsible and date who she wants. Far from plain but nowhere near a barbie. Those labels are wack anyway. Girls arent that one dimensional
if a plain jane is someone who doesnt shave their arm pits then ill take the barbie. a plain jane can easily be a barbie after a trip shopping with me. this question isnt an easy one because to me someone could be a plain jane but to someone else she could be a barbie. personally i like a woman to take care of her self, so if that means because she shops at sephora and wears christian louboutin with seven jeans shes a barbie then so be it. dont get me wrong she could shop at old navy and gap versus nordstroms and still be a barbie.
This right here! As for pressure and whatnot... I can't remember the last time I wore make up. I roll out of bed in the morning, shower and then half the time throw on t-shirt and jeans then run out the door while my hair's still wet. I'm not gonna try to impress someone, if at the end of the day it means being someone I'm not.
this is the same for me as well. shower, moisturise, hair up in a ponytail & flying out the door. i'm quite happy calling myself a plain jane
it really depends on my schedule.. at the weekend, it's like holidays, when I can wear sth comfortabe...but during the week, it's an absolutly must to wear make-up, a suit or a costume, high heels ,to be a "barbie" (if you want to call it like that). It depends on what you do (job or if you are a mom), but of course you can overdo all. To be groomed, btw, has nothing to do with make-up. Some girls really look nicer, naturally
Daaayuuuummmmm!!!! Without trying to pick on the presentation of this thread... I'm picking on the presentation of this thread.... And forgive me if I stir the water a little, but in its present form, this thread leads us down the "slippery slope" of perception and false conclusions... The "Plain Jane" moniker already suggests a negative image of a woman, any woman who does not fit the "Barbie Doll" definition, as varied as those definitions may be from one person to the next.... Are we to believe that the definition of "Plain Jane" is represented by the women depicted in the attached link? Shouldn't there have been a "Barbie" or perceived "Barbie" included for the presenter's concept of whatever message the presenter tried to implant? I won't even comment on how irrelevant the male comments were but, do you not think they were chosen to accent a point and perpetuate a stereotype favorable to the presented hypothesis? I've said it before and I'll say it again.... Beauty is in the eye of the beholder....One man's "Barbie" is another man's "Jane"... And it works the same way around for women... Matters of the heart, on the other hand go beyond the surface and superficial....
Since you guys are so devastatingly handsome, I sincerely hope that none of you would be caught dead with anything less than a 9.899.
Give me a girl who can tie her hair in a pony tail, then throw on some torn jeans and a tank top and be ready to go in 10 minutes or less over the girl who takes 20 mins putting on her face, doing hair nails blah blah blah blah. There's something really sexy about a girl who doesn't have to try too hard to look good.,. just naturally beautiful.
90% of the time i am without makeup.. and most o the time i go out i just put a lip gloss or lip palm.. that is why sometimes i like to just have some when even i go to the store.. i dont work and if i dont put any makeup while i go to the store where else i will.. most out is to friends house and maybe a birthday or other occasion that may have to go .. most of the day i wear yoga pants and a sport tshirt around the house..this been now for two years.. i used to dress good also in the house even had on heels full day.. got lazy the past 2 years.. but even then no make up at home. i dont spend hour in mirror i can be ready in 15 minutes and just go out but i will admit i will not go anywhere if my hair bad just crazy with that i think am simple most of the time i just like to dress good.. dont care about brands if look good it can be 10 dollars only .. i want to be again how i was dressed, nice all the time, even when my son was a baby i will had my heels on around the house clean with them, and be dress good full day.. people used to wonder how i manage, but if it is something u enjoy u find time ..
