The more I do my new meditations the more I get connected with nature and people who share my vibrations. The other day I knew my friend's dad was being sick before she told me, the same way as my mum dreamed about my grandpa being free and say goodnye to her and woke up in bed the exact moment my grandpa died in his bed at the hospital. I used to focus on hugging my ex from a distance and he would text to tell me he felt a hug and ask if it was me. These things aren't bullshit. <3 Men are really scared about this stuff, way more then women, that's it.

But belittling those of us who have experienced differently only shows how closed-off you are to other peoples' life experiences. And being so closed-off only further lessens your ability to see through others' eyes and experience what they've experienced. If you did that, you just may learn something about the world. I never said that science has all the answers as we stand now. But given the record much of the fields of science managed to debunk a lot of fundamental superstitious ideas, can you blame me for being more forthright in my practicality? And you're really no more different from me when it comes to belitting others. I'd expect this behavior from a seven year old with Asperger's. But not from an adult. I have learned enough that people are still embroiled in superstition and when challenged, they act like children the minute we cross examining their thoughts on the matter. The new age jargon people exercise just solidifies a placebo. Besides, why did you bother responding anyway? It wasn't directed at you at all.

I used to think it was easy to simply be adults and agree to disagree. I feel completely okay with not everyone believing the same thing about the afterlife, God, spiritual gifts, and the ability to interact with others on another level. I don't get why this thread got so heated.

Please don't say things like that. My five-year old son has Asperger's and I can assure you he does not belittle anybody. He's possibly the most open minded, intelligent person I know. Little remarks like this come across as incredibly ableist. Anyway, I can kind of see Books point. I absolutely do not believe in religion, afterlife or superstition (in fact I really, really HATE religion) but I respect others right to believe in whatever the fuck they want.
It's odd to me when the most theoretical of quantum physicists discuss the probability of ALTERNATE UNIVERSES(!:smt017) stacked one on top of the other, and how worm holes could be used to traverse these distances, are given more credence by empiricist thinkers over spiritualists/mysticism, when conceptually what they're talking about is essentially THE SAME THING. Whenever I hear talk by scientists about the possibility of alternate universes, this Bible passage pops into my head. They are; 1. When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong. 2. The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible. 3. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. So what is considered mysticism today may very well be proven to be scientific fact tomorrow. Science hasn't necessarily disproved spirituality or consciousness after death. The problem may be they lack the theorems or technology to test the spiritualist hypotheses. Just saying, it's more rational IMO for an analytical thinker to keep an open mind and not hold fast to any intellectual ideology. It's great to doubt or be skeptical, but for someone to have an absolute belief that spirituality is bunk because it can't be proven by science is a flawed way to view the issue.

Besides all the arguing and all the jokes, people, I feel that there is a lot of confusion between the concepts of "religious" and "spiritual". Please do not connect the 2 things because that's just superficial. I am spiritual but I don't belong to any religion, and some people preach Jesus or whatever they preach but have totally no spirituality.
