how'd you like to open up a 'normal' history book, read a regular passage from Italy and see this picture with a caption 'American (yes...AMERICAN) troops take stock of artillery rounds with special messages for Hitler scrawled on them'

 

this makes me think of the band 'Sonic Youth' and their hit song 'Kool Thing'

rumor has it the lead singer wrote the song with this guy in mind...

 

From the look of their uniforms, those guys on the left were French soldiers

I can't remember the last time I seen black French soldiers in ww2
