Images That Make You Stop.....And Think...

Unbelievable but he did complete the throw, rolled and stuck Chris Taylor a 400 plus pound American wrestler in the 1972 Olympics. And about the changing nature of sport terms, my old school coach always called belly to belly throws a salto, and a belly to back throw a suplay (su-flay); my girlfriend called it doggie. Oops, that was the referee's position. Anyway, he also called folkstyle wrestling collegiate. He had a poster of that pic in the wrestling room. Me and my teammates would just stare at it in awe. A stickler for terms, but a pretty good coach

if anything, the photo does speak to you

it says that with the right amount of determination, you can do the impossible

sports really are more mental than they are physical

nice find

something you won't find in mainstream history books that recount WW2

would be nice to see black ww2-era soldiers outside of black history books/month

how'd you like to open up a 'normal' history book, read a regular passage from Italy and see this picture with a caption 'American (yes...AMERICAN) troops take stock of artillery rounds with special messages for Hitler scrawled on them'
