Thank you so much for saying this! Only when we move beyond the stereotypes and generalizations will IRRs be seen simply as genuine, mutual attraction and expressions of love instead of overused clichés.
True dat. To me its so varied that I don't think one can say why anyone likes anyone else with certainty. Attraction isn't something that can be measured accurately and certainly not what attracts folks to each other mentally. I might like a white girl because she has a flat ass, the next guy might like another white girl because she has a fat ass, ditto short hair, long hair and these are just the physical things for starters.
I have a strong preference for brunettes and their black haired sisters, I don't know why but I do. I would date a black woman very happily but they aren't many in Cardiff. Cardiff is very cool in terms of IR but its also a very white city. Not that i'm complaining :smt080

I don't know what you've had to go through personally so I won't comment on your experience but as a black person living in America my whole life I gotta call bs. BW/WM couples are far more accepted and mainstream. The first IR pairings in media were usually that combination but no one lost their damn minds like they did/do with bm/ww. Also that wanting light skin kids with "good" hair is absolutely true, not in all cases but to deny the colorism issue amongst our people especially with women would be a clear farce. Lighter skin is access and a sign of beauty especially amongst our women so its definitely not outside the realm of possibility that a lot of black women want kids with lighter skin in order to bypass the colorism issue. And quite honestly I do think A LOT of black women think they're too good for bm because the requirements they have for bm to be suitable mates never seem to be equal to what they accept of wm. Certain cultural things are very really kid.
