And you're right its not the suffering Olympics but when someone like her tries to compare what she's gone through to what bm/ww couples go through she creates that conflict. And what do you think someone is doing when they bring their supposed IR suffering to a site meant to deal with the things that affect bm and ww as couples?

I just think your issue with Appolonia is sort of misguided.
Of course you are entitled to you opinion, but I think you are making her into something she is not. She did not create the thread, nor did she start the discussion, she merely added to it.

ummm not even remotely what I am saying. We all seem to respect boundaries everywhere else. If women want to have all women environments any encroachment by a man well meaning or otherwise is quickly struck down because we are suppose to respect boundaries. Same thing with ethnic barriers, I don't ever recall situations where the Asian student union at school was bullied to take non Asian members, there was an understanding and respect but when it comes to bm/ww either we need to be all inclusive or you're being mean for some reason. Weird double standard but whatevs

I think her constant need to compare annoying and FALSE. It's simply untrue when she says that bw/wm couples suffer the same injustices or attempts to paint a picture that we do. Maybe you have been lucky enough to be shielded from negative shit but just the fact of being a black male brings more tension and hatred towards the coupling of bm/ww. I broke it down very well for you guys but it was simply ignored because Apollonia said so.
Its like many of the racial things most of the women choose to stay out of like when many go back and forth with Paniro because a lot of the shit he says is simply untrue but for some reason when the disagreement is between a man and a woman A LOT of you feel so compelled to jump in. I think that you have missed my point. Empathy towards others does not require that one experiences the exact same things. I will never know how it feels to be an Australian aborigine woman or a Tibetan man or a Peruvian child or Nigerian oil tycoon or a POW in a military prison camp however I am capable of having a general understanding of the overall emotions involved as a part of the human experience which allows me to empathize or relate with their respective joy or pain or suffering or triumph.

Have you ever watched a foreign film and were so connected to the story and the characters that the subtitles became nearly irrelevant? Our ability to empathize and have connections with other humans transcends race/color/culture/national origin/religion.

DK is correct.

Not every person has to be invited to everything. Not everybody I meet gets invited to my birthday party or my wedding or even my funeral. Doesn't mean I "hate" those people, just means that the event is not geared towards their inclusion or they are not on my inner circle.

Once a celebrity was having a kid and a fan found out and knew the hospital and took it upon himself to drop in on an event that should have been on of the celebrities fondest personal moments. The point is sometimes ones mere presence can be an intrusion no matter how well the intention.

Methinks the poster in question knows this and is taking delight in using some of the members here need for "acceptance" and "inclusiveness" and "not being a hyprocite" against you.
