Well....yeah there is that Whipping out your EBT card with that trademark look (thanks for being discreet, big government) in a crowded market can make you feel embarrassed or ashamed......thanks to the way society treats people on government assistance Which is insane because all you wanna do is eat and not go hungry at night
People should never be embarrassed. Most people wouldn't know what it is. And those who do, know because they've been in the same position.
Yellow? There's no yellow on it. People really have no clue what it is unless they have dealt with it in some way. It looks very similar to a bank card that a lof of people have out here.
I saw on John Stossel's report several weeks ago about the supermom that the Nigerians are the most successful African-Americans in education, careers, and overall achievement more so than whites. I guess as true Africans the press will play this up as to those so-called African-American (those born and raised in the U.S.A of the coveted slavery ancestry cannot even measure up to the "true" Africans. Talk about dividing and conquering. Wait until Nigerian Boko Haram immigrants make inroads here. See if such favorable commendations will still be given to the Nigerians. Hey what about the Jamacians.
Seems like everyone else gets the freedom to talk about their oppressions except for blacks. Everyone else is allowed to speak their mind but when the topic is race regarding blacks that shit won't be tolerated since we make it all up
Meanwhile... The Asians and Indians are running laps around them and the Chinese own much of their Dept. Way to go White people..
To those Whites who think those Nigerians are 'better' than Black-Americans then why their country is not like Europe or South Africa?
Europe is in deep trouble while Nigeria is on the rise...yes...it's on the rise. Sweden just announced they have more men than women for the first time in their history...it's over for them. No country survives that. Europe has a negative birthrate...un-payable debt... and is being conquered by migrants.
On the contrary, I think the success of Black immigrants in America highlights the impact of cultural oppression on 'native' Black folk in the United States. The idea of hard work and exceptionalism are not foreign concepts to most immigrants, even those who leave their home countries for better economic and educational opportunities in this country. I still believe the role model of Black immigrants in America is going to be a covert 2nd Civil Rights revolution in this country, because of the example they set from their own achievement. Americans in general have a low bar for what hard work means and how it applies to any success in life. For anyone watching the Roots reboot on A&E and the History channel, there was a powerful line uttered by one of the overseers in reference to a defiant Kunta Kente; "You don't buy a slave. You MAKE a slave." Meaning you have to break an individual's psyche to the point that they no longer fight against their station in life. Black folk in this country historically are on the come up but when you consider we are not where we should be educationally or financially as a community, people need to understand some of the bullshit we're working against. We've got a generational underclass in the Black community. That's not something that's easily 'fixed' on any level.
