Also I find it interesting that this is Rated R being as though how the trailer played out. It came off as a PG-13 teen drama movie.
APORIA: In Select Theaters August 11, 2023 |
Sophie (Judy Greer) is virtually drowning in grief after losing her husband (Edi Gathegi) in an accident, but after learning of a top-secret time-bending machine, she will be faced with an impossible choice—and unforeseeable consequences.
Directed by: Jared Moshé Starring: Judy Greer, Edi Gathegi, Payman Maadi, and Faithe Herman
It was due to a poor promotion of the film. It was quietly released last week. This film has a %93 rating on rotten tomatoes(out of 40 reviews) and %80 rating on fandango.Looks like nobody posted about this film that just came out last week:

It's a limited release so it will be tough to find where this movie is playing at. But it looks interesting. We might go out and catch it some time next week... IF we find a area where it's playing. lol.
You can watch this on Showtime.
Or you can watch it here.
Oh shit! LOL, This is why I don't like drive-by posting of trailers in this thread without any context. I'm just now seeing that the female lead (with the black male love interest) in this film "As They Made Us" is Dianna Agron (The chick who played 1 of the female leads, the head cheerleader Quinn, on the earlier seasons of "Glee").
If 1 of y'all had mentioned this, I would've added this film to my watchlist when it was originally posted instead of overlooking this post.
lea Michelle has bigger canons but Dianna has a prettier face
Not us. I'm talking about overall promotion of the film. Indie films starring prominent actors that are HIGHLY rated among critics gets mainstream attention and 'buzz'. Maybe it will pick up as time pasts.I don't think "Aporia" was poorly prompted. It's just a limited release indie film. We post about indie films in this thread all the time, so that isn't good excuse especially when the lead couple are played by 2 recognizable actors.
"Gran Turismo" comes out next weekend & nobody ever posted the 2 trailers that have been released since this post, so I'm posting them now:
So you could say this movie counts. Based on a "real story", I'm not sure what the love interest of Archie Madekwe is, I think might be Emelia Hartford or Maeve Courtier-Lilley. That being said, according to the cast, his mother is being played by Geri Halliwell and his father is being played by Djimon Hounsou so there's that.
Gran Turismo is based on the unbelievable true story of a team of unlikely underdogs – a struggling working-class gamer (Archie Madekwe), a failed former racecar driver (David Harbour), and an idealistic motorsport executive (Orlando Bloom). Together, they risk it all to take on the most elite sport in the world. Gran Turismo is an inspiring, thrilling, and action-packed story that proves that nothing is impossible when you’re fueled from within.

RIDE
Wait......what? Ludacris adopts a 20-year-old man and teaches him to ride a bike?
lol.
It's based on the true story of the title character BMX rider John Buultjens.

I'm watching "The Ride" right now & I refuse to believe this is based on a true story, especially when you got a popular Rapper that I grew listening playing the foster father. It just takes me out of the story.
Yes she did it too in a movie "Bleeding Heart" that was released two years prior I believe . . . (2015) and her live-in boyfriend and business partner is played by Edi Gathegi.Jessica Biel? Not even if it snows in the Sahara.
