BM and BW have been grievously abused and tortured throughout history, there is absolutely no doubt about that. Injustices abound today, even here in the great ol' US of A.

And as much as I agree with what Raider is saying, I feel that I must point out that women are still taken as slaves today, all over the world. There are still women as sexual slaves in the US. This does not in any way diminish what has happened to groups with a history of slavery and I know this will make me again, immensely unpopular. But it's a reality today. Within the US, generally a North American born person who has white skin, can have privelidge based on their skin colour. But unfortunately, having a vagina makes you a target all over the world, including here as well.

It doesn't mean one group is suffering more than another, or one group is the greater victim, I simply recognize that we each have our unique journey. I just wish for a day, and I know this is tremendously naive, when humans would treat each other and all living things with at the very least, some basic respect to their right to life.

Interesting point but when you open the lens that wide you again have to include all the black and brown men being slaughtered because of military occupations and civil war. Young boys being forced at gun point to kill, yes we all suffer on some level but opening the lens beyond the scope of the context of where we're talking about trivializes our struggles. I'm not trying to be mean but what were you really trying to make?
And lets be fair Athena in most of the world your whiteness coupled with your North Americaness shields you from a lot of the bs associated with your femaleness. Which brings us back to what we were talking about, in a racialized world skin matters more especially in the states. I think mothers of black kids especially sons see it morw clearly they see how different things are they don't have the luxury of tuning out. The recent bs thats been going has really educated me on this. I see it in friends and even womeb I've dated. What's going on is rampant racism. I'm not denying that. Living here in the US has shown me how much racism is really alive and well. It's not nearly this bad back home. But if you think women are in any way shielded because they are white, I would a million times disagree. I knew this conversation would become a "who has it worse" situation as soon as I wrote it. But I am trying to speak my mind, trying to open up here on this forum and contribute something of substance. I knew I'd get shot down by several posters for my opinion. But there it is.
