The Negative Thread

My goodness. I went to bed, had lovely dreams about puppies and unicorns, made some green tea and decided to have a peek at the board!

WTH went on in here last night? People are a wee bit crazy :smt024

Kunoichi have you ever thought about being an agent or a lawyer of any kind? You seriously should no bs my friend.

Its like you're the only one who actually read the thread and argued the points instead of trying to "prove" me wrong and thanks for actually recognizing that I asked questions and didn't just make statements.

Well Bookie and I were having a different discussion in that particular post.

As for the original discussion, Andrae asked if wealth was an attractive quality. He didn't ask if it was the only one.

But the responses were very clear...which was that the money a man makes does not factor in any shape or form in helping to decide on a relationship.

In the sole example that was used where it might factor in (and later used to represent all the women in the forums thinking), it didn't even register in the "Top 10 Things I Want in a Mate". The top ten! I mean I have to ask - exactly how many other qualities are more important- does having a great income really fall below "#10: wears matching socks" lol?? I'm kinda sensing a bit of PC on it, that's all.
Because it makes me wonder if two similarly, nice-personalitied men were genuinely wooing you, and one dined you at the local chinese takeout each night and rode you home on the bus while the other dined you at Le Bec Fin and drove you to your doorstep in a car each night, who would you gravitate towards?

I do understand your point when you cite the proof is in the numbers of women who marry average-incomed men, but as Saty pointed out; "by sheer numbers alone most men and women are not wealthy". So just by economic dating pool choices, most women WILL end up meeting and marrying average-incomed men, even if their prefer it to be otherwise, no?

I personally don't mind either way if a guy I like is wealthy or not, but I would never, ever knock a man's wealthiness down to be a negative..c'mon now. If he was wealthy, it would surely add to our life, not negate it OR our relationship, nor would I run from it based on a belief that he must be an asshole because he's well off.

You have a hard time staying on topic my friend because you're arguing what you think I said in other threads not what I actually said in this one. You also don't recognize whata question mark is because I did ask the question" is wealth not an attractive quality" do I believe it to be a statement of fact? Yes I do but I was giving you and other posters the option to really think about it but alas most of you with exception of Kunoichi take the pc route and only see what you want not what I was actually saying. And I said nothing about stacking paper I was criticizing Petty for saying that very thing and then having the nerve to pretend like I was saying some off the wall shit just to stir the pot.

What I'm beginning to see and its a very valuable lesson is that once people believe you to be a certain way no matter what you say they base their response often on how they feel about you opposed to what you actually say.
Anything on the topic of women for a lot of you when it comes to me comes off as blah blah I'm bitter and can't find a good girl blah blah money is all that matters blah blah American women are bad. No matter what points I make its written off and like I said others make the exact point and aren't treated that way. They acknowledge the factors that make one a successful dater opposed to someone who doesn't yet they aren't bitter because they are actually liked. So I appreciate the lesson that life never really stretches beyond hs for most its still a popularity contest lol.

I know you did.. but as it wasn't a part of the original issue, so I was just going back to that. And Drae did not ask if it was -he stated it was - and he has continued to do so - stack papers to get the girl you want....

On the whole point of Saty's post and your last statement- that is my whole point and what I have been arguing all along - and that, is substantial in regards to what Drae is stating.

Statistics prove him wrong in his "must stack papers".
He even said that this is what he has to deal with dating and actually said it was the norm.
Have you missed all those gazillion posts he has made on that subject.

Right now I think he goes back and fort with that whole "stacking papers to get the girl you want" just look above on his latest post. That is the whole premise on my argument.
Most women don't need you to stack papers to get her. They exist everywhere but it is not the average woman.

Knocking wealth down to a negative?? where, I don't even recall that being a part of this discussion and it certainly has not had anything to do with mine.

Right now, he has completely muddled the discussion and I don't know where his goal post is anymore. At this point, at least 4 people that has followed this discussion has mention that so I am not the only one.

I think for the most part we are in agreement though.

My only, and I state that again, only, mission if you will, in this is to clarify that the average woman don't need you to "stack the papers" to get her. That is all. Not about the personality traits of wealthy men, or the significance of stable economy in a relationship. I'm talking regular people in regular relationships and regular dating scenes with regular expectations.

Actually that very thing was said. Go back to Kunoichi's post where she highlighted and underlined specific text. Good try though.

No one's saying "ewwww I would never date a successful man." They're saying that money isn't what they're looking for, it's personality.

It's like...if a woman with a great personality, who was sexually attractive to you also happened to be a neurosurgeon with a successful practice, that would be a bonus, not the main thing.

You said" men want a woman with a good job too" you made a definitive statement you didn't say some men you said men.
You're right it does take two incomes to have a middle class lifestyle but its usually based off a man making more.

Bottom line women generally perk up when they hear a man is a docotr or a lawyer or an engineer. A lot of them recognize these to be high paying jobs and react accordingly. I posted a delightful documentary about that and some articles one of which you agreed with until you saw that you're pov wasn't actually being supported and then dismissed as evo psych lol. You guys crack me up

I'm not telling you what all men want. I'd be stunned to discover that a woman's income doesn't play into things in the same way in this economy. Two incomes are needed for a middle class lifestyle.

Men may notice looks first - guess what? So do women. If you're standing in a bar or walking down the street, I have no clue how much money you make - but I sure as hell notice if you're hot.

IMO, I would say that it's some women and not all. Women that place a higher value of money over the person they are with are usually like that. I don't think white women (in general) and the women on WWBM share that kind of mentality with regards to how they perceive money.

They know that Freddy is right, and so do many others who won't admit it publicly on the forum. Freddy always gets enough positive rep to balance out the negative even though most people here try to attack the knowledge that he blesses the forum with whenever he presses "submit" on his browser.

what is it exactly that you are so right about? if you are so concerned about women that date white men then you may be left with a sausage fest because many of the women here are equal opportunity daters...

there are also quite a few men here that have not only never dated a ww they haven't dated at all...they get no dates...or they have not had any substantial relationships...so how about you clean up your own camp before you start worrying so much about who the women date or specifically who lippy dates:smt023

I'm amused by a reply to you and now you want to get digs in. You can rescind all of those accolades.

Is it true that you made a concerted effort to stop seeing black men?

you deserve a dig when you stick your nose into something just to stir the pot...i don't have to recind much because i was and never will be one of your pandering lapdogs...i see a real problem here on the forum with the women pumping up undeserving men to only have them act like fools and go on with unrealistic expectations of themselves...

no it is not true that i have made any effort to stop seeing black men...i will tell you that i am in a point in my life that i won't just settle for any black man and if a really interesting hispanic or caucasion man catches my eye i will certainly entertain the idea of dating them...here is the deal though, i haven't found that there is a lack of good black men...but i will also share that the type of black men i would date would not put up with this forum for any length of time...they are on such a differnt level then most of the men here...this forum to them would be childs play...

nerdy girl may have a point...this has turned into a sausage fest of really bitter men...i'm sorry you guys can't find dates and maintain relationships but at some point you have to own that...

i do have a news flash for you and all the other men that love to take their digs on lippy...your negative attitudes are the number one reason women are not available to you...it is like repellant...as soon as women hear a man complaining without a good reason it's over...it's just not attractive

you all need to learn how to be a magnet...draw people to you with something other than your skin

Wow, two in a row, first Nerd Girl and now yourself. Maybe this will start a trend toward more civility, weeding out the lame, and plain calling it like it is here.

I've been wondering and waiting to see if a woman would step up to the task.

Great job!!

No, I actually saw the documentary as a whole, and much of it was evo psych

Ask yourself this question: Why is it that "it's usually based of a man making more" and then ask yourself if you're right that sexism no longer exists in this country. You argue against your own points and never connect the dots.

Really? What about a woman complaining there aren't any good men or complaining that men only want a certain kind of woman?
Truth is we NEVER voice these opinions to people we want to date or actually date. Come on now people lol

What he said AND what she (lippy) said

1. Please stop lying I never once said sexism didn't exist. Back it up with the post please

2. Whatever the reason is for men earning more in the relationship has nothing to do with it being an attractive quality. Good try though.

3. If its all evo psych please show me the study that claims and supports that women of marrying and child bearing age don't care what a man makes. That money has no bearing on why they choose a mate.
