Agree completely. You have to go after the people at the top. Which, believe it or not, Trump is lasering in on (of course he is not going to win anything), but he keeps gunning for Mexico's president with a $100,000 fine for every illegal he willfully sends here. Trump actually isn't targeting the illegal worker, but the politicians encouraging this. It would be nice if our President did that.
Anyone against illegal immigration should be including all walks of life. I always have, don't care if you're Chinese, Indians, Russian, Greek, Nigerian....geeze, if you only knew how thorough you are investigated before being bestowed the honor to live here. I'll never take it for granted and will fight for all those doing it the legal, honest, RESPECTFUL way. I hate line jumpers and law flouters.
Of course he isn't because Trump loves his dirt-cheap labor whether it's here or abroad: He can talk noise about China and Mexico until he's blue in the face. Like Orejon said, the key is to keep employers here from hiring anyone here illegally...but that would mean actually having to pay people more. We need stronger labor laws and regulations, first and foremost.
It is not the law in Texas or Ohio. There are several states that do not do stop and ID. This is how the police treat black people just because they look the same because we all look the same to some people. I don't understand how you don't get what minorities go through. You are on a site that a large portion of people are minorities. It is like you don't hang around people of different race and not seen how the police treat some of the people. It is like you live in an ideal world where it is just oh the police are not going to misuse that power. Just because it is the law does not mean that the police will not use that law to target and suppress people of different races than them. Minorities have been on the receiving end of this one too many times. If you don't understand that, then you really are going to have issues with relating to a black man let alone dating them. To tie it back to immigration, the police will as we have seen in the pass misuse their power on people who are legal but look "illegal" or sound "illegal". Lots of legal minorities aren't treated fairly because they aren't the same as the majority. We seen a man running from a cop and gunned down in cold blood then frame the guy about a tazer. To add another layer of reason to persecute minorities because the police officer feels that they are illegal or thinks they are illegal. That is it. It is bad enough as a black man, I'm walking down the street and some cop stops me because he thinks I am up to no good but to add another layer of police that may come at my family who are all legal because they sound illegal. That is a line. TDK is going to understand where I am coming from about the stop and id. I think it is because he understand what it is like. To be clear, I am against illegal immigration. I am also against stop and id because the police have used this numerous times against American born minorities. It should be struck down in any state. The police must have seen a reasonable crime committed or investigating a crime at which time must tell the person of this crime so that the person act accordingly to protect themselves for being a victim of said crime.
Politicians have limited power to stem the flow. Even in East Germany, where they shot those attempting to leave, people left regardless. When Castro tried to do that, people still left in droves, risking their lives. Haitians come to FL on inner tube rafts if they have to. Businesses are to blame. If there are no jobs for them, they won't come. Oh the irony. This is sweeter than gooey butter cake. Trump and crew want to keep the focus on "crooked/unethical politicans" rather than squarely where it should be - on the capitalists. They own the means of production, they make the hiring decisions, they purchase control of the governmental apparatus, and yet they want us warring with other poor folk. It's a species of the same demagoguery they use to distract the white working class and focus their anger against us.
so basically the citizens voted in a Mayor that is for sanctuaries..... The joke isn't on me. I don't live in a sanctuary city. My point was that citizens have a will and clearly that will(through direct or indirect) is to be a sanctuary. Those who do not want it to be don't care enough to do something(meaning the actions to stop the city from not being a sanctuary was and still remains to be ineffective)
This has nothing to do with illegal immigrants. This is a legal issue that I was aware of 3 years ago which is why I decided to leave the tech world. Microsoft and all the big corporations are the ones who rallied behind this. The loophole is there because of them. This is not in connection to people coming here illegally. This is a whole other issue that really deserves it's own thread but there is far few and between of us in the tech world to talk about it on the forum. Not to mention there isn't enough care in congress to do anything about it. If you look in the academic world, you will see the same problem but that is a whole other discussion that would probably last maybe one page with no results....
It's like Lyndon Johnson once said: "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you." Those words are as true in 2015 as they were when they were spoken over 50 years ago, if not more so.
I'm just adding on to what you posted Typical talk from people at the top hiring indirectly illegal immigrants.
Hardly a joke on us when we had a serial rapist in Philly...Who got sanctuary here.. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news...nt-charged-with-rape-while-in-sanct/?page=all Arch, why don't American citizen criminals get sanctuary in their own cities?
There is a problem with that comment as far as I can tell. You have to be an illegal immigrant and last I checked American citizens are not illegal immigrants. That being said if I am wrong about how sanctuary city works( I have no idea, I don't live in one) Why doesn't your city just vote in someone in like they did the sanctuary? It seems you guys like voting in folks who like sanctuaries.
That's why they love those subcontractor relationships. They get to cost-cut until the cows come home and absolve themselves of any responsibility for the outcomes. Well, according to the Chief...
Lmao...Our newest mayor...is the farthest leftist liftie of the left..He'll probably open every jail cell in my city .and your city, their city, everyone's city.
LOL. People can keep pretending Trump can't get elected. But I think people are going to be surprised in the first GOP primary debate. Trump may not be a career politician and know the details on every policy issue, but his is smart and quick on his feet. He'll have more applause lines than any other GOP presidential contender.
I agree. It's dangerous to underestimate the extent to which workers can be demagogued, especially when the demagoguery has an ethnic or nationalist component.
Yeah. The other bad thing, i heard , that it takes about 10000 to get started to become a citizen thats not including the "grease my palms" money
If you have $100K to invest, you can get a visa expedited because of a clause specifically allowing immigration that enhances investment and economic activity. No palm-greasing required.
I guess I'm the only person that sees Chump Trump getting his ass handed to him by the more seasoned candidates. I still say that Cruz, Paul, Huckabee, etc. are all better suited to a debate than he is. It almost makes me want to put some money on it lol.
