Sometimes I really wish I cared more about how much money potential mates make, because maybe then I wouldn't have spent the last four years living on ramen and working stupid jobs just to make rent.
It's impressive to me if a man (or woman) has the ability to be self sustaining at a young age...I had so much respect for this 25 year old I went out with (when I was 23 I think) who had his shit together, a decent job, a car of his own, and his own apartment, and he did it himself, no help from parents. Sadly, his personality was severely lacking and it never went past the second date...I WISH I cared about money that much, because he liked me a LOT, and I probably could've been with him for a long time and had him paying my loan payments by now.
Sadly, I'm more concerned with taking care of -myself-, and working towards providing for myself AND my boyfriend...not that he doesn't contribute, but honestly, if I could just let him take a break and take care of the money for a while I would. He deserves it. Because even though he's not rich I have never felt so fulfilled and happy in a relationship. Even when we're broke and we have to pull out some kitchen magic just to get dinner, I would prefer that than to have a cold, silent, gourmet dinner with a piece of shit guy who treats me like crap because his wallet makes him feel like his shit doesn't stink.
I hate not having money, but I have never been willing to sacrifice my dignity for it, and I would never sacrifice my happiness for it. Money doesn't make happiness, it comes from within. It comes from that place a lot of people don't even know how to find, that pit deep in your stomach where pain likes to stay.
But when you learn how to love yourself and just allow yourself to be happy, it melts away. And no amount of money can ever do that, only a strong will and an open mind can get you there.
Oh, and btw, just as an FYI, I'm the kinda person who'll say "go fuck yourself" if I want to be hostile, Andrae. If I'm using all those fancy big words chances are you're adding more emotion than actually intended. So, seeing as how I'm a little buzzed and give even less of a shit, we can just pretend I pulled one of your numbers and threw out a conveniently insulting statement about your reading comprehension levels here...but we'll pretend it's not insulting, since you don't insult anyone so therefore it must be perfectly tactful and polite to make such a statement. lmfao.
You're still mildly entertaining...though really, just for a good laugh. I was reading some of your posts to some chicks at work and we almost literally rofl'd. So thanks for the good time, I guess! I'd say keep it up but it's not funny after a while, it just gets sad.
