EDIT: Although when it comes to abortion rights, gay marriage, climate change, and capital punishment his platform is more conservative than liberal. He also IS gunning for votes in his speech...He said himself "time to become American citizens and vote the Republicans out." Go reread it. He likely doesn't give two shits that for many green card holders, unless they qualify for dual citizenry, they forfeit their birth country's citizenship once they become a U.S citizen. Many people don't want to surrender that.
So he really doesn't care about what they'd want, only what he wants.Their vote. Their vote, to keep him In his career and accustomed lifestyle.

I don't think Trump is a plant at all. I think he simply represents a certain strain of far-right racism and xenophobia along with an intense narcissism and sense of entitlement. Planting someone in a race can land you in serious ish. I've seen people go upstate for 6 mos - 2 years for doing that in an insignificant local race, so pulling it off at the presidential level is highly unlikely.
