thats why there are different positions and parties and the law. i dont believe in social programs and affirmative action, so different opinions about how one uses money i guess

you are not wrong, that is your belief and perspective. you have to learn that you can have a different view than others without them hating your or you hating them.

I dont believe that as a taxpayer I should pay for social programs like affirmative action or public schools. I love giving money to the poor and to schools like HBCUs but I dont believe taxes should be used for that.

esp when many minorities attack the majority whites who pay the lionshare of the taxes, or attack the rich who give the money for social programs and scholarships.

but you have a right to your views, always

i dont believe that tax payers should pay for educating others children without having a voice in what the curricula and culture of the local school and community is. and many public schools are not accountable to anyone but the bureacratics and the unions. So no, i do not support them.

Yes whites pay the lionshare of taxes. But they also have the lionshare of wealth among other things. Even at the same income levels, whites still have, on average, twice as much wealth as nonwhites.Whites have had Affirmative Action on a bigger scale in the US since the beginning. Affrimative Action tries to rectify that but AA is still pretty much a failure. The US government had the chance to rectify the problem decades ago but didn't. This problem really should have been solved when slavery ended.

i dont support it also because since the 1960s with the socialist experiments of the left, black people have been doing worse than better on many indexes. Since Sen. Daniel P Monyihan's seminal piece on the State of the Black Family in 1964, and after the Civil Rights legislation, Affirmative Action, today more black men are incarcerated than in college. 70% of the black children are born out of wedlock and this is The major reason for poverty--as single mothers make up 85% of the impoverished in the US. Black families have desentigrated since the 60s. on average, black owned businesses, black community based schools are in shambles or non existent.

So, no i do not support such programs and believe as Booker T Washington did, that we should pull ourselves up by our bootstraps, sneaker straps, flip flops and drooping pants and start to invest in our own communities, invest in responsibility training of our youth, support the policies that cut our taxes and make us less dependent on the welfare state and more dependent on ourselves and our communities.

I agree that social programs have helped the problem with poverty. But also so did drugs among other things that were shoved into the black community.

no one made them take drugs, shoved or not in the black community. they are in every community adn until people start taking responsibility for their use of drugs, illegal or legal(alcohol and cigarrettes) and stop playing the victime, then the problem of lack of jobs, education, housing, and self destruction is never going away.

there is always an excuse for the problems, i like the solution, i work with brothas who decide, not the white man but myself did this and I will get better and do, i applaud that--no the "someone else did this to me".

The mafia and CIA helped flood drugs into the black community.

Its crazy that the government has screwed black people on so many occasions but somehow try to deflect the blame.

I don't think anyone is against taking personal responsibility. But I'm also for the government taking responsibility also for its own crimes. I don't think anyone is blaming individual whites but the government. The government has taken no responsibility for any of its crimes against blacks. Instead blacks are thrown ineffective solutions like Affirmative Action. They don't solve any problems but make the government look like they are doing something. These days white people in this country are playing the victim card. Like AA has even put a slight dent into any of their privileges, wealth, etc.

it shouldnt put a dent in anyones personal wealth, you were just saying how you didnt care how anyone spent their money in capitalism, then they dont owe anyone anything. it was individual whites who were the slave owners and those people are the only ones who should be held accountable for whatever happened to blacks.

the government has made up for what they did with affirmative action, the social agenda of the liberal courts, welfare, public housing, etc. now it is time to cut all of that. since the black community has also turned its back on the church, the institution that began the civil rights and have decided to emulate the folks who enslaved them--the democrats, then there is nothing else black folk should be doing but keep voting democratic and keep making music the man likes to hear.

Those crappy social programs haven't made up for anything. Why should only individual whites be held accountable? The government helped, funded and instituted laws for slavery and oppression against blacks. People turning their back on the church and voting democrate doesn't abdicate the government from blame. Why would blacks who populate the slums of this country vote republican. What exactly is the grand old party going to do with blacks? Although blacks have started turning their backs on democrats because they are just as bad.

you dont know til you try and the government as it stand takes advantage of a people who doesnt do anything to stand for itself but puts all of its hope in one party. so the party of the capitalists and philantropist, the business leaders(as the liberals love to paint the republicans) could be a springboard for black businesses and liberation for the governement social coattail. But if the masses think they can get a better deal by hating the conservatives and selling themselves to white liberals who dont give a damn about them, hey I aint gonna stop them. i just cry for my people who perish for lack of knowledge and think the dems annd the government as a whole is going to give them something and let them have power.
Bill Clinton did jack for the people and they run around, skinnin and grinnin for the white liberal man. true the Republicans havent but they dont have to since the blacks refuse to vote for them. I have voted for Republicans, as have all the men in my family since reconstruction and we have only prospered. Because the REpublicans, who are just as racist as the dems, at least say we are equal, dont need a handout, but work hard, have self respect, have personal moral integrity, save, invest, cut taxes so i can save that, stay in school, challenge oneself to personal character, put God, family and community first and see that you will succeed. we did, even with Jim Crow, and without Affirmative Action. So can the rest.

i hate to see my people bowing and scraping for the govtment handouts, i am for the ones who respect self and move forward despite racism, ostacles, poverty, upbringing.

but there will always be the masses who will want to follow the easy path and i guess i cant do anything for them. sadly

Bush did get a big increase in black votes because of the democrats crap. If the democrats keep screwing over blacks they will continue to lose votes.

i love giving scholarships out to those who merit it through hard work, not because they are black or poor, that would be an insult, but because they desire to move forward and no wallow in what they dont have or what someone else owes them.

I hate to see people suffer also. And agree that working hard for themeselves and their communities will bring out positive results. But so would the government if they stopped screwing the people. President Bush hasn't done anything for black communities. If any republican actually bothered to help with the school system for one. That would take alot of votes from the democrats.Republicans haven't reached out for black support. Democrats have reached out to blacks even though now they are screwing black people over. Just count how many democrats go to black events and how many republicans do. Or meet with black organizations.

well, why should President Bush or the Republicans do anything for blacks, they didnt vote for him so he owes them nothing. He has done alot for black people and aside from taking their votes and then tossing the aside, Democrats have done absolutely nothing for us(even Al Sharpton has said that, and I am no friend of his). Bush has reached out to blacks all over the country, Ken Mehlman Chair of RNC has been speaking at every black group to get them to partner in many things. The NAACP just want to shout down anything that isnt going to give them a handout, the National Urban League was the only group to invite President Bush and he has spoken there several times. He has put forth the voucher program that many blacks wanted but the Democrats voted down. It would help many black families get out of the bad inner city schools and attend better private and charter schools. He has given the Faith Based Initiative with has given money to churches and faith based social service agencies to do what the bureacratic government has failed to do, adequately serve the poor and homeless--this my field, so i know this like the back of my hand and he has done more than any democrat has. He has put blacks in more cabinet positions than Bill Clinton and Carter combined, and whether you like them or not, he has put two blacks in the highest cabinet post in the US history--Powell adn Rice, Clinton and the Dems could have but did not. He has strengthen schools, those schools were failing under Clinton and other presidents and yet he was willing to support the Public Schools, though I disagree vehmently with him on this and think he should take money out of the schools altogether. He shares in the responsibility of the failure of the after math of Katrina, but local New Orleans authorities and the state of Louisiana failed to care for their own people as first responders and they have the heavier blame. For the last 35 years we have been saying to cut back on big cars, big houses, over consumption, but Americans refused, so it is our fault, not his that we have a gas/oil problem. We refused to drill in the alaska wilderness for our own oil, we let the liberal radical environmentalist tell us our to do oil policies and we failed to adequately meet the challenge, this was way before Bush took office. Clinton did nothing to catch Bin Ladin though he was offered them, He bombed baby food factories in Kenya, and failed to keep us safe several times, included Oklahoma, the WTC the first time and the USS Cole.
No, Blacks were failing ourselves long before Mr Bush came on the Scene, we just looked for a scapegoat in a Conservative because the white liberal bosses say jump and we say how high massa??? We have never questioned Senator Byrds actions in the KKK. John Kerry didnt even have a black in his election team, the Dems are historically the KKK party and the slavery party but we keep giving them a get out jail free card, over and over and over again.

So we as black folk will remain on the bottom, not because of racism but for a refusal to change. because we think one party is our savior and the other party is our enemy. So i say, for the ones smart enough to jump ship come on brothas and sistahs, for the others, "damn sad you keep shufflin" we love ya and wait for you with open arms but we arent going to force or beg ya.

well thank you thank you darlin, i am happy to oblige a true lady. I speak the truth as I see it, not forcing on the young man. no need to speak falsehoods. they want the white man to do everything for them and no wonder we cant take care of our families, homes, communities and selves. we are always blaming black women or black men, each other--we need to point the finger at ourselves. we are our own worst enemies. Its not black women bashing us, its us bashing us and demanding the white man give us one more thing.

nope, put down the ghetto rap, do rags, 40, excuses why we cant compete, lazy attitude and anger and stand up like men, please.

sorry didnt mean to shout in teh presence of a lady ma'am
