Actually, women generally find me attractive. That being said, white girls hit on me more than any other race. I recently asked a (white) girl (we work in the same building) what she found attractive about me. Her response? "Your face, your complexion, your eyes, your long eye lashes, your lips, the way you carry yourself, your ability to relate to almost anyone, your body, and I think you would make a wonderful father and husband"

Her response was not quite what I expected, but were it not for my relatively darker skin, I would have been red all over

    Chimin' in...
Short Answer...Hell yes...not all the time but often. Do I ask why? Not really - at least not now. When I was in my teens and twenties, I used to question it all the time. Then, one day, I went to a job interview. I had called and confirmed the time and everything and when I got there the person with whom I was to meet was a bit shocked. I thought nothing of it until after the interview. I got the job but, I reflected back on the interview and realized that this guy had talked to me and used references that, more or less, came from his background. he also talked to me like someone he was comfortable with - almost like a neighbor or something. I also remarked to myself as to how I had not seen but one Black person the whole time I was there and then I thought about the shock on his face. I was not what he expected.

What am I babbling about? How many times have you talked with someone on the phone and put a face, color etc. to the voice? Hell, I do it all the time. This guy thought he was talking to someone white. Numerous times, I used to here from Black folk that I "talk white" - this usually, or so I thought, meant that I enunciated my words and spoke "good grammar." after this experience the above-mentioned interview, I realized that they really meant that i "sounded" white as well. So, coming back to what someone else had already said, for some (actually most that I meet), I don't pose a threat. In turn, for many Black folk, because of the way I talk, carry myself, and yes, even dress, it is assumed that I date white - if not all the time then at least most of the time. Once I understood that (the reaction and its basis) I understood much more about how I was perceived by "my own kind." It used to piss me off...it doesn't any more. Now, I just laugh - especially when someone wants to exclude me because of their perception of who they think I am.

It ain't just Blacks who make assumptions about me because of my overall package. When I was living in Quebec, I would run into the same thing. I speak french really well. I should, i lived in Montreal for twenty-two years. For eight of those years I was in sales and had to speak French about eighty-percent of the time. Imagine the look on some peoples faces who agreed to an appointment with some Anglo named Bradford who spoke very good French and then they met me...LOL Lawd the stories I could tell ya. But, as usual, I digress.

I have had this experience and, like I said, it used to piss me off. Now, I don't even get bothered by it...although, every once in awhile I get a fool and then 9like in sales) I make him pay for his stupidity. You know the old saying about having the ball in your own court...drop that ball, I am gonna run with it.

    Peace...

    Rick

    Taye...

French, Middle-Eastern, Lebanese, Italian, African, Haitian, West-Indian, East-Indian, Brits, Irish, Scottish...more-open-minded, less hung up with the kinds of Bullshit we have down here and that includes race. Smart, aware of what is going on in the world and lot less superficial than many we have here in the states. They are women...they just have a different accent...LOL

To your second question...in short yes...for a more definitive answer, read my post under "Why Are You Here?"

variety is the spice of life as they say. Its still interesting what poetic said about sounding white not by grammar but my just overall voice tone. Cause I got friends that are white but people be saying that they sound black on the phone  I got a interesting question that kinda relates to this do you guys think being black/African American is something that your just born or something that is defined by your experience in this country? like ppl who are hella afrocentric think you got to have experienced certain things inorder to get the full "effect " of being African-American.

No one has ever told me I seem like the type who dates white girls, but I have been told that I seem like the type of black guy a white girl could trust and date (according to them most black guys are bad but I am one of the "good ones", they feel comfortable with). Some days I dress more preppy and other days I dress more hip hop, so I try to mix it up since I am equally both sides, not just one. Obviously I will attract more classy goody goody white bread type white chicks when I dress preppy, and I'll attract ghetto hip hop white girls when I wear my Michael Vick jersey, backwards cap and baggy sweats or jeans.

Well for some reason, a lotta people especially black folks see me and automatically assume that i look like the type who dates white women because i dont speak in hip-hop slangs, write correct English, dont pull my pants halfway down, drive nice cars and live in a wealthy area and this really absurd reason; "I smile a lot and am not aggressive". I mean, how pathetic is that? But the thing is im just a normal person, i do anything that suits me. One day, i could listen to LL COOL J and the next day i could be listening to Maroon 5 or Guns 'N' Roses. One day, i could wear throwbacks, jeans and a hat; alternatively, i could be dressed in a suit and tie. I could be doing a slam dunk and blocking shots and the next day, go surfing or boat racing. I just take whatever floats my boat.

A few weeks ago, this girl, who was black, tried to get me to drop her off at her campus but i told her unfortunately i couldnt because i did not have enough room in the car since i was already taking 3 people, two white girls and Jose, a friend of mine who arrived in the USA like 2 months ago. I was trying to explain to her that if i could, i would have and while we were at it, all three of them arrived. The girl then said, "Im not surprised you wont drop off a sista, since you only fuck them spanish and white hoes". N.B= NOT MY WORDS. I didnt even bother replying to that comment.

Black women go around saying things about me in their groups and one day, this Carribbean girl, who is a friend of mine, was telling her friends how much i helped her with her school work and i was nice. Her friends told her not to think much that "he doesnt date black girls, only white and spanish". Again

Some people even come up to me saying you're not very "black" are you? I ask them what makes them think so and their reasons? They say, "You vote Republican party, date WW, watch white TV programmes, dont listen to rap and you speak soo hoity-toity. Im like, "What the hell?" Some parents of white girls i've dated, who actually accepted me  have told their children they feel safe about me and her considering im not the thuggish type and i make enough money to look after their daughters and i just wonder if materialism is our sole purpose in life.

Women generally find me attractive which is no fault of mine  but i get hit on by WW mostly. In fact, most WW who see me with my shirt off assume im into some kind of modelling and im like, "Hell no". Eva would kill me if i ventured into such a thing.

thats some crazy shit! and its like something that i may have said before ,it seems if your not threatening to white people then there is something wrong with you as a black person. Iam universally sexy as well lol (black, white, hispanic,Indian, etc.) ,but I mostly get attention from white women mostly cause that is what iam surrounded by. I also feel the same way, how come it is so hard for people to think of a black guy as a normal person? Its like if you tell people that black people are diverse and different most people will look at you like  "nigga please" lol
