i experience what is called liberal racism. racist liberals who think they are doing black people a favor by protesting for public education while taking their own kids out of the public schools and placing them in private schools; or treating black people as if they are a project that they have to solve; or acting as if they are the white savior (white mans burden) to all the poor black folk, all the while afraid of the educated, equal income black man or woman because they cant control us.

that is the kind I see all the time up here.

What about all the black people who do the same thing to other blacks? They're no better.

YOU WOULD BE REFERRING TO THE DEMOCRATS IN OTHER WORDS.

Really Cressida? Why do you think she is like that? When she could really be an ally?

there is a great book written by a very liberal writer names Jim Sleeper from the Nation magazine, a US left wing periodical. the book is called "Liberal Racism" where he comes clean about the agenda of affirmative action, the bigotry of low expectations, white flight, etc.

actually not necessarily all democrats, just the liberal wing of them.

Cressida, that is brave and honest what you admitted, not many whites will be honest about the fact that that is happening and many black people think they are mentally going crazy because of what they observe and yet many whites deny it.

    thank you for being honest

Which is the majority. At least, in my opinion. I've always seen Democrats as a bunch of emotional crybabies and to me, they're the real racists.

well, i am specifically talking about the 17% who say they are liberals in America. And only talking about "my personal" experience with this sort of Racism, as opposed to the kind that you have experienced--which was the topic.

Well, I think there is a difference between the hard core racists and everyday people who are conditioned to believe in the stereotypes presented by the media. While the former will see your skin color only, no matter how you carry yourself, the latter will connect you - consciously or unconsciously - with certain "types" he saw for instance in TV. So for the latter it will make a difference if you represent an ex-con "gangsta" rapper, or if you rather look like a Armstrong Williams or Colin Powell and will deal with you accordingly.

So i take it you've never experienced institutional racism?

yes, cressida, the patronizing types are the worse because they refuse to learn that they are really looking down upon the people they say they want to serve.

many will say, they believe in racial equality but will get upset if their daughter or son dates or marries a black person--i have witnessed that type of racism so much in my life--that is the kind of racism that I know, not the really intense stuff, but it saddens me and turned me from a left wing socialist to a rabid right winger.

That would be leaning more towards prejudice and sterotypes and then might lead to racism.

I never understand why they need studies to prove the obvious!

institutionalized racism? like which kind? i am inclined to say no, but I wonder first what you might mean?

Like say racism in schools, work and at other institutions. In fact, apart from liberal racism, have you experienced any form of racism?

never in school, never in churches, never in work or shopping. I have just seen it by the local people as I have mentioned.

i grew up in the south and never experienced the personal kind, except by an individual at Ole Miss, but the rest of the people supported the one drunk guy.

I find that really hard to believe, you know. Not that i dont believe you or am i saying you're lying, but to say you havent experienced personal racism is kinda incredible.
